Anyone able to remove the mesh fan filter off their Leadtek card easily? I noticed it has a dot of solder on the 2 tiny screws preventing easy removal. It looks like a project I don't want to deal with, but I want to get rid of that grill.

why would you want to? I thought the purpose of that mesh was to prevent dust bunnies and noise?

My Leadtek Gf4 had foam dust covers, but the fans used to touch them and make more noise, so I took them off.

Exactly, most of the noise I hear is the sound of air going through the mesh. All Leadtek needed to do is listen to it once to know it's a dumb idea. But the card has component video out and good vivo so it's worth getting rid of the mesh. I am sure the Zalman cooler with optional fan plus ramsinks would do the job, but the price of that adds up with ramsinks. Kind of looks good on this card:
