I have a ti500. Everytime a new driver set comes out newer games seem to work slightly better, but the fps on my older games like tribes 2, CS etc just keeps plumetting. Seems like the keep making the old stuff worse and worse. I hate it.

its your choice to upgrade u dont have to, so if u prefer having the high fps on the older games dont upgrade the drivers, and if u want good fps on newer games upgrade

the other thing to consider is that they add new features in newer dets sometimes, and often correct bugs with certains games or applications.

I know how you feel, the 45.23 drivers were faster for me than the 53.03. And before the 45.23, I recall the 43.45 drivers being even faster. But for me, I'd rather loss a few FPS I would only notice while benchmarking anyway, if it means they fix something or make my computer experience overall better, like the new Nview 3.0 :)

If you're finding the new det's are really hindering your performance, it could be a software issue. Try removing them completely and install the latest ones fresh. If that doesn't help, maybe it's time for a format again. If that doesn't help or you don't wanna do that, then it may simply be time for you to upgrade your card since the GF3 is begining to show its age :(. The good news is there are some great deals these days, the FX5900 starts at $174, and if your more strapped for cash then get a FX5700 non-Ultra for $139 and overclock it
