Petition to rename the FX5900XT to GeForce5 Ti5200
the FX5900 to GeForce5 Ti5400
and the FX5950 to GeForce5 Ti5600

I swear the FX5900XT is the only true heir to the Ti4200!!!!!

I'll try to argue my point...

The first NV35 to come out was the 5900 nu, then a higher clocked version 5950, then a slower clocked version 5900XT, remind any1 of anything? It's got all the same features as the other NV35, 8 pipes, 256bit bus...

The 5900XT completely dominates its price range, performances are equivalent to the Radeon 9700Pro for 50$ less, equivalent to the 9800 np for 100$ less.

No one should ever buy the 5600/u or 5700/u now. This card even beats the Radeon 9600XT for 15 bucks less (in eastern Canada anyway).

meh?

umm, I think the 1st nv35 released was the 5900 Ultra...

And I think if there's ever gonna be a "titanium" associated with nv35/38, it'll be the last nv3X card @ some crazy clock speeds in late Q2/Q3 2k4, designed to be a mainstream solution akin to the GF2ti marketing situation...

doh! I forgot about the 5900U
Ahh, let's just add the Ti5800?

bah forget it :)

Honestly I don't think they're gonna put out another NV3X, my guess would be thet they would switch to NV4x.

but what they did with the GF2ti made sense, and appealed to lots of mainstream gamers (heck, IMO the card is still powerful.. for good steady 12x10 gaming in RTCW, Q3, Unreal Tourney and other games, and good 10x7 perf in games like Ghost Recon, SOFII, RTCW: ET, C&C Generals and more)
