Only been waiting for my new videocard since 16th Decemeber, was meant to be an ATI9800SE 256bit, but it didnt turn out that way, now Ive got a Point of View GF FX 5900XT. Havent done any testing yet, just installed it, using RivaTuner to enable coolbits, default 3d clocks were 380/690, so Ive put them to 400/700 for default speeds until I start OC ;)

Anyways, here are some pics of the card I took, as Im not sure many, if any, of you have seen a Point of View 5900XT yet. I use FortuneCity to host my pics, some firewalls will block the pics, so if that happens, you will need to change settings in your firewall, which is rather silly, as it blocks the pic and leaves an ad, which the point of some firewalls is to block the ads :p

it's a excellent card at a affordbale price plus the ease of overclocking to a 5900Ultra speed if ur is from a very good quality brand

Tnx for the heads up Sat ;)

Been spending the last few hours with 3DMark03, not for benchmarking, but for finding the best combo OC, as well all know, the highest OC doesnt always give best resaults :)

After all that, Im running @460/950 :afro: artifact free, and just fyi, gave me a score of 5629, which is better than the 1200 odd with my gf3 :p
Running the 53.03 drivers, they came with the card, I ran a few games quickly before OC, so now to "really" test the gaming :p

Almost reminds me of a graphics card from another well known graphics card company ;)

I've not heard of Point of View before, are they just one of the less well known companies producing Nvidia graphics cards?

Yes

"NVIDIA appoints Point of View as New European Retail Partner" as of Dec '03

They started up in 2000 :)

Well, at least it's red, so you can pretend you have Radeon 9800XT :)

Just to report back that games run great, no regrets with this purchase :D

Games Ive tried so far

MaxPayne2 @1280*1024 with FSAAx2Q (couldnt start the game with 4XFSAA) AFx8, things I noticed over the GF3, mirrors DO look sweet, but the thing I noticed most, was Maw's leather coat looks much nicer, oh..and so does Mona Sax :p frame rate is always above 70!!

Serious Sam:SE @1280*1024 FSSAx4 AFX4 will run 8X, didnt bother trying that, silly me. FPS can drop down to the 40s, but stil that is smooth, most times its above 60-80, normal ingame settings.

RavenShield same settings at MaxPayne2, Ive found that the 1.51 patch is really crap and kills FPS, SP frames are higher than the MP (with just me on the map) when looking at a wall Im only getting 35-40 fps, even with FSAA off!!

Halo demo doesnt want to run with refreshforce, so I'll skip that :p

Thats about it for the moment, time to try some other games.

The 1.031 patch resolves that issue. Works great with refresh rates forced. If for some reason it still doesn't work for you, put the following switch after halo.exe

-vidmode 1024,768,85 - that forces the game to use 1024x768 @ 85 Hz
