Better to continue the discussion here ey? :D

Well, the game is pretty cool, although i'm having a swap fest atm. My poor HDD is having a hard time. Think i need more RAM. :p

*Sigh*, this will be a long night.

Well, after two hours i give up. I just can't get this game to run as i want to. :fu:
If this is a hint how the big titles will run on todays hardware well, then i'm scared. :D

And enabling aniso makes some textures look..strange. :wtf:

Just like it does in Halo. Perhaps this is another DX9-related thing?

Yes, I believe it is the blurring and pixel-shader 2.0

Huh you cant run the game on Athlon 64 3200+? The game require 512Mb RAM to run, look like you have less than 512Mb RAM.

And is your Radeon 9800XT got 128Mb? To run the game with the highest settings and much better textures, you will require 256Mb.

All 9800XT's are 256mb I believe, but the game ran pretty nice on my system.. all options maxed, well.. the multiplayer did anyways, still downloading the single player game.

Here's some screenshots I took on my GeForce 3.
-------------

I shot this dude when he was at the top of the steps and he rolled down until he finally stoped here. Unlike UT2K3 where bodies just slide around, these dudes actually roll and tumble.

It's like a jungle sometimes, It makes me wonder how I keep from going under. Uh huh huh huh.

The scopes on the weapons show the enviroment in real-time. Very cool.

Yay for Bumpmapping.

Wow, just beat the demo, and I must say, what an incredibly awesome game! I must pick this one up! Totally surpassed my expectations. There are a few flaws, and a few framerate issues here and there, but hopefully those can be cleared up by release. Excellent game:)

What are those strange blurrie spots on the woods?

Can someone with a GF59xx tell us how it runs, as it suppose to run better on nv-hardware?

Yep ,i have 512 MB RAM, but this games seems to be a real memory hog.
The 9800XT is the 256MB version.

Gameplay etc, is awesome, very nice. I'm buying this baby, no doubt about it.
The game runs great with all settings at 'Very High', it's just that nasty HDD swapping from time to time that kinda takes away the fun.
Lowering the settings doesn't make it better either.

But i've heard some guy at valve say the same thing about Half Life 2. 1024 MB of RAM and your gaming experience will be optimal. :)

New times now i guess huh?

I will let you know how it will run on my system. :D

Can you put your fps here ?

And is it, OpenGL? damn, just 5 hours work in the office...

Yes it seem run much better on nvidia hardware. I turned all options to the max with 1024x768 8xAF, it first it started fine and then it shuttering, then shuttering again. I turned down the resolution to 800x800 and then everything went perfectly with no shuttering. :D

Far Cry definitely need Athlon 64 and more than 512Mb RAM to run perfect at 1024x768 and above, it no way my aging AthlonXP 1800+ can push it.

I experienced no graphics issues and it use Direct3D9, I cant changed it to OpenGL, maybe it will when the game released. :)

Are the Torrent links providing any more speed for download?

Thanx. I heard this game needs indeed more then 512mb in very high qual. mode.

Woo-hoo! I'm glad they decided to release the demo before the full game... I'll put myself in line once I get home, so that means I should be able to download it starting at 3:00AM on Saturday night!

OpenGl works but is buggy. Type \r_driver OpenGL in console then restart.
The game seems to take up alot of ram but alot less the BF1942.
I get between 20 and 50 FPS at 1024 x 768 4xAA and 8x AF
With every setting on Very High
It looks like this in directx 9 **********56k warning on this thread********

I loved this demo. I had all settings at very hight and got an average of 65fps. I have a 2800xp with 512 megs of ram. This is a good set up for this game. The shadows were the only setting I had normal. For a demo it was solid for me.

Nice to see that it's a game that does not disappoint. The AI is really good in this game. :)

Oh well, I'm gonna go play some MP in the beta now to kill some real people.

It's a great game!! Just finished the demo. However, the fps really needs to be fixed! Using Fraps to calculate the fps, I get around 32 to 48 fps on my system. All settings are max out (1024 x 768). AA/AF disabled in control panel and ingame settings. I thought far cry is part of nvidia's "The Way It's Meant To Be Played" campaign?? The game should perform well on GFX cards. I hope they get it fix before the official release.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/nzone_farcry_home.html

If you go to the website above, nvidia actually states that the recommended GPU is Geforce FX. Hopefully nvidia is reading this now.
