Hey Eveyone,

I've run into a driver annoyance, and I'm hoping that someone can help. I have a Geforce 3 (I know its old, but I'm waiting until the summer to upgrade).

Using the latest drivers and Windows XP, I can't set my resolution to be 1600 x 1200 with "True" 32 bit color. I can select them, but the options rotate so that I can't apply that combination (like if I'm on true color and move the slider, then it resets to 16 bit, and if I'm on 1600 x 1200 and select 32 bit then it changes to 1600 x 1024 :(.

If I uninstall the drivers and use the MS defualt driver, then I can select my setting.

Can anybody offer any guidance ?

Thanks :)

Bob

Have you tried any of the older drivers (44.xx or 45.xx)? Seems like the 44.03's work good with the GF3's.

I checked with a friend of mine, and they haven't had any problem with setting their GF3 to the desired resolution.

On Settings->Advanced->Adapter->List All Modes, they are all there except for the 1600 x 1200 @ True Color :(.

Does anybody know how to add one of these modes ?

Alrite, an update for the masses...

I don't understand the probelm but after trying a bunch of drivers...the effect described above is present when I use a driver after 45.23.

Does anybody have any idea why this could be happening, and what I could do to fix it ?

Thanks,

Bob

Dont know, maybe a refresh rate problem?

But as has been siad, your better sticking to 44. or 45 drivers for the GF3.
