Besides NV40 and its code-named NV41 brother equipped with AGP 8x-to-PCI Express x16 bridge, NVIDIA plans to launch NV39, NV37 and NV19 products that are basically GeForce FX 5700, GeForce FX 5200 and GeForce4 MX respectively paired with the same AGP 8x-to-PCI Express x16 bridge to be able to work with modern PEG x16 mainboards due out in Q2 2004.

NV36-X PEG was mentioned by Uttar before, and we've seen the Leadtek 5200 PEG from CES, BUT A GF4 MX PEG card?!?!?!?! WTF.........

Damn i was hoping G4 MX would just die.. now it's around for longer:(

So.. they arn't making new mid-range cards for a while then? just re-vamping old ones.. not great news.. although, the 5900 could take up the mid range position like the ti4200 ect did.. and it wont be very dated tech either.. only it wont be PCI-Ex.

Don't forget the TNT2 was around for ages before they killed it. I'm guessing the 440MX will be around for a while yet. This would be why nVidia is using a bridge chip as their PCI-E solution. This way, they only have to produce one chip for their lineup to be PCI-E compatible, rather than redesigning/respinning several.

I don't agree with what they are doing btw, cos they definately aren't moving the industry forward, but I can see why they are doing it.

Remember they made variants of the ti4200-4600 that were agp 8x, so it is not necessarily going to be a horrible thing or anything.
