MS Messenger Problems???

My daughter installed MS messenger and now I can't get rid of it. I've tried everything I know via Add/Remove nothing seems to work. Has anybody a suggestion on how I can delete it. It annoys me every time I use Outlook.Bl**dy kids:mad:

Go to start menu and hit 'run' and type this in :

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

After that restart your pc. :)

They added MS Messenger to the list in the Add/Remove MS components after you install SP1...so you don't need to go thru that...

I tried that, but it doesn't uninstall Messenger. It just removes access to it from the start menu. It still comes up when I launch Outlook. You still need to do what K.I.L.E.R. said to completely get rid of it.

Saturnatoka's right its no good just trying the Add/Remove option as the bloody thing won't budge. But K.I.L.E.R's suggestion removed the sucker once and for all.

I wish I could at times but her mum won't let me, but I put a password on the system now that should pull her up in her tracks:D Whats trillian?

you can always just edit your group policy...that's a real powerful tool, and a bit easier than the cmd line to use...
