I find that 4 displays is actually too much real estate to keep track of. Three is the most i can effectively use without losing windows.

Well, i had to put all 4 on one machine too, just to see it done. Then i moved them to a pair of switchboxes, where each of three machines has two displays connected.

What hardware is in your rig? What video cards are you pairing? If they are all Nvidia, you should check out Nview 3.0 it's pretty good. Also, isn't it a little difficult having your monitors seperated so far apart?
Personally, I find my dual monitor setup to be plenty for my needs. It allows me to watch IRC and AOL IM while I'm playing a game, or surf the web while I watch a DVD :D
