After using ether of my web browsers (Mozilla Firebird and Internet Explorer) for 15 minutes or more, they quit working. Other online programs such as games or messengers still work. I have ran Norton anti-virus and ad-aware. At this point im lost and would rather not go through the process of reformatting.

The only way to "fix" the problem is to restart and then after 15 minutes it does it again. Im running an ADSL 512k connection and Zone Alarm firewall if that matters any.

Try shutting zone alarm down and see if it makes any difference.

Tried both of these things.

What do you mean by 'quit working'? Do they stop being able to connect to websites, or do they just crash?

it acts as if it's connecting and then it says page cannot be displayed.

Sounds like a firewall locking out incoming/outgoing.

On some instances, Ive connected to the net, without turning the firewall on, and it would lock the internet out for some reason.

So I turn it on, and then the pages load :|

I have disabled Zone alarm and the windows XP firewall. My guess is that it's a problem with my ISP (CenturyTel) or my network adapter and I don't have a PCI network adapter just lying around. If the problem is not ironed out soon I'll reformat.

hmph, I would call the ISP, and see what they have to say. Sadly, I dont know 1/4 as much about networking, as I do about programming.

Problem fixed! Turns out my ISP had a bunch of severs down and it was messing up everyone connection. Comcast users were having similar problems.
