Well i know i wouldn't mine going to the planet and living there maybe! Would be fun sorta if they are like us somewhat. Maybe even more advanced who knows. Or do you all think the other life forms are like bugs, animals, etc?

If you're having a religious debate against Christians (just for the sake of argument)... UFOs are a great way to make your point.
1. Do aliens have souls?
2. Do aliens go to hell because they had no Messiah?
3. Or did aliens have a messiah? But that would mean that Jesus wasn't unique or was reincarnated..
HOLY MACKEREL!
In the words of the Great Jack Black...
I WIN! ONE TO NOTHING! NEXT SONG!

(and yes, this was completely, utterly random, but I've said it before :p )

There are just too many factors to consider. I guarantee though that it will be NOTHING like startrek.
There are so many possible things that could have been different that Earth's 'evolution', that it would be truly impossible to speculate as to the nature of other beings.

Do you all think the world would pantic if we found out like other life forms sorta like us exist on another planet? Me myself i would not mine it because i would want to go visit them as long as they are not hostility.
Do you all think the goverment knows more than they are letting the public know about other life forms? I think they are.

You all ever wondered like exactly how big space was? Like if you could compare it to earth or measure it in miles. I am sure it would be huge. To big to even imagine. It would be cool to beable to travel all around space but thats not possible yet. I am sure space is so big its hard to even believe.

a) They definitely are. The govs are hiding one helluva lot of things from us, the filthy bastards. Rot in hell, I say.
b) First contact with alien species. I think humans would **** it up. We need morally strong people with reasonable intelligence to do it right. The typical capitalist/whatever would totally instill the wrong ideas.
I would visit them. But they wouldn't have me cuz George Dub-yah and BillyG would alienate the aliens.

Screw that
I'd just like to see antimatter reactions become a reality (they ARE a reality, we just can't produce enough antimatter) :(

Yeah, wormholes are real too... we just need to get enough negative energy densities... but that'll take a while. heh.

as far as intelligent life forms out there, near or beyond or own human intelligence and capabilities, i think its out there, but its not some mysterious scary invasion type thing. i bet if aliens have an idea about us, and if they have been able to fly and landed on earth and abduct some humans for studies, and haven't invaded yet, because just like us, for example we happened to find a paralel earth, simliar to ours with creatures, not being able to know, how dangerous they are, the way they think, we'd be scared to want to interact. could be the same reason they don't interact with us, who knows what humans would do. freaking george w bush prolly want the whole military killing them.

nah, he's sell them blueprints for SUVs and the chemical formula of 92 octane gasoline.
He's choke the planet with emissions.
Then he'd go in and grab their tech and attack Iraq
I believe in 4 dimensional beings ;) :D
OT thing:
(btw CD check google for Roman history about their tactics in war. Surprisingly I have seen lots)

LOL, when I said countless, I don't really mean infinite, I mean, alot. Space is so never ending, who is to say that there isn't any life and that there isn't alot of it?:D

lets say, if you believe in the scientific belief of things, and that the universe is billions of years old, and considering how long humans have existed. and considering the existence of creatures such as dinosaurs only being so long, and the rate at which extinction occurs, just imagine, the possibilities of how many civilizations just as advance as ours could have existed but have been destroyed through the wraths of time. lets say even at this moment there are many intelligent life forms out there, who knows how many advance life forms could have existed through the spans of time of billions of years. a countless number certainly does seem possible.

common mistake people make when considering the advancement of earth, and advancement of the universe. the universe doesn't follow a path of becoming more advance as time goes. it could easily be possible that humans could be considered very "primitive" to other civilizations that existed billions of years ago.

Lots of life out there, space is too big for it NOT to be. But as it was stated they are not going to attack us and they are not rocking it out at area 51.
Think about it for 2 seconds. Alien travel a couple hundread thousand light years with instealler craft... you think they are gonna sneak around do all this stuff or just blow us up with the new X34-Xr laser cannon they just got last week. :D
As to the question of other planets, one only has to go to
http://www.nasa.gov
and give the search string "extra solar planets" and much will come up concerning recent discoveries and planned investigations moving on into the future. Life is also considered more likely then it once was...
Are there extra-terestrials, I would say yes, I think there are...
As to questions about advanced vs. primative, "good" vs. "evil", etc...let me put it this way...
There is a large variation of people here on Earth from western civilization to hunting and gathering tribes which still exist to this day in more remote areas of the world. In our own historic past we have seen people like Adolph Hitler, Sadaam Heusein (sp?), Osama Bin Laden, and the like, on the one hand. He have also had people like Mother Teresa, Gahndi, Martin Luther King, etc on the other.
There would be likely as much variation from one person to another and one civilization to another spanning all those that are out there, running the entire spectrum. Logically we would be neither the most advanced or least advanced, best or worst world out there, but somewhere in the middle. Some might be the "invading type" and others more peacable. Given the amount of variation we see here on Earth, I see no reason there wouldn't be variation from one to another... All aliens would not be the same from one to another... We would after all be talking about societies containing different individuals in each, in which each culture would have it's own unique development and history...
