Someone toldme that I can change the cooler for my
Gainward FX PowerPack! Ultra/1100
http://http://www.techtree.com/techtree/jsp/techtree/ezimagecatalogue/catalogue/gainward-graphics-card.jpg

for this one:

But there is a problem the cooler is designed for a Card with de DVI port
in the other side.
are ther any way to put the cooler without this groinding braket?

Wych toher coolers should be fine for my card?

DVI port cutout is on the wrong side.
Not using the grounding bracket may cause crashes and instability.
Zalman 80A without fan or 80C with fan.

I installed the Artic Cooling Silencer on my 9800Pro and it works very well. You might check their site and see if they have added/updated that would allow the Silencer to work on your card.

Couldn't you just run a simple little grounding wire and cure that problem?

Everyone I know who tried one on their 97/9800 Pro seems to love 'em and I'm trying to talk my wife into letting me get one, but I haven't heard of any FX users trying it yet.

I havent seen anyone install it on a nvidia card eather.

However maybe the compnay will start makeing diffrent brackets, who knows.

Why a bracket for the 5900 series is not available is kind of a puzzle. Of course, the 5900 reference design has proven to be efficient but not necessarily so for overclocking.

After using Artic Cooler's Silencer for a couple of weeks on a 9800Pro I can say only good things about it...mainly that it works, cooling the gpu while running very quiet. In addition you have the option of making it quieter with the two position fan switch (for me, the running fan is undetectable when in the low speed position).

The only negative thing I can say is that my warranty is voided. I think HIS offers this unit on one of its 9800 or 9800XT offerings.

It does require taking up an extra pci slot...but most all high performance video cards require that the first pci slot be unoccupied.

Dick! ;)

That's the way I felt when I saw it too, I just had to have it. At $20us it just seems like too good a deal for the money. :)

80C with fan.

I'm triying that one.

But in the packege one of the screws was missing :(

I should try to mount the cooler anyway (with other
screw)

Weirdness. With my zalman 7000 cnps CU CPU cooler I got 6 screws. I needed 2 because I was putting it on a p4 and I would have needed 4 on an athlon xp with the 4 mother board holes, so either I got 2 extra or athlon 64's need 6. :)

Yeah I got extra screws too.

But the one I miss is one small half srew half nut
I'm triying to replace it with a larger screw and some nut's.

I hope that should work

Well at least it wont fall

70 Cº isn't too hot ?
when the drivers says 140 Cº Slodown ...

it really can reach 140 Cº
