From Digi-Life: (http://www.digit-life.com/news.html?101531)
Crown X Tornado Volari V8 Ultra 128MB DDR (MBGA chips) — 799 yuan ($97)
Crown X Tornado Volari V8 64MB DDR (TSOP chips) — 666 yuan ($80)
These should be followed in the near future by the following:
Crown X Tornado Volari Duo V8 Ultra 256MB DDR2 (MBGA chips) — 1599 yuan ($193)
Crown X Tornado Volari V8 128MB DDR (TSOP chips) — 733 yuan ($89)
Crown X Tornado Volari V3 Ultra 128MB DDR (TSOP chips) — 399 yuan ($48)
Though these aren't actual US prices, they're somewhat nearer to what the prices are expected to be/should be...
I don't care what anyone says...those prices sound good...and the new drivers are out too, and someone from Volarigamers gets ~40000 Aquamarks...not sure if XGI is still cheating though; I guess we'd have to wait for a full review on that :)

Try looking at Driverheaven and Xbitlabs for their review (I don't feel like looking up the links at the moment). Both reviews of the product are very disappointing to say the least.
However, the price range for the card matches the expectations of what those cards perform at (minus the 2 power plugs).

They should release it at 50 bucks, and pray they can sell what they already have on hand.

The 9700 pro or FX5900 for under $200 would still be a much better buy, both are proven cards with good performance.

And the 9800 Pro for $230 is a proven card with even better performance. :D

Doubt it...

XGI has done everything wrong IMO. If they was smart they would have only released a cards to compete with the Geforce FX 5200 and the Geforce FX 5600/700 - Radeon 9600. Because that's where all of the money is at. Then they would of had the money and time to refine a high end product to compete with the R420 and NV40. As for the $200 price point it's still not worth it. The card has MAJOR flaws. The card still does not compete at that price point every major review site has shown this already. With the unstable drivers in most games, I would pass it up in a heart beat. Just my $0.02

New drivers doesn't change the fact that this card is out on the market and the "next generation" card is right around the corner. The closest thing XGI has to a card that's in mass production will be obsolete before it has a chance to mature.
XGI's up a creek without a paddle.
Lecram25 you just don't get it do you? Check out at this review at X-Bit http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/display/xgi-volari_22.html . This shows the effects of Halo performance and image quality with the driver optimizers and without. The optimizers bring the performance near 25 fps in PS2.0 but the IQ is just terrible if not the worst IQ I have ever seen. Well the optimizers are a good thing because the game is runs at 6fps without them. The only reason I see for XGI to add these to the drivers is because the hardware is to flawed to run the game properly.

OR...that they rushed their driver set out. From what I've been hearing, the beta drivers are/were really good. So maybe XGI added the cheats to get some performance out of the card while they were still ironing out bugs. Like I've said above...I'll be awaiting newer/updated reviews...I know for a fact there will be a DriverHeaven update; the tests are being done this weekend...

Well, they still suck, but at least they're a cheaper suck than we previously may have thought. ;)

I'd definitely go for the V8 duo at that price point if it included a coupon for a free FX 5900SE!

I still don't see the reason to buy one. Performance is worse than a Geforce FX 5200 is many cases and the drivers are extremely unstable. Even if these drivers boost performance to the level that the cheats brought it, it still wouldn't compare to a geforce FX 5900 XT or Radeon 9600 XT which can be found cheaper than $200. If had a choice of a Voodoo 5 5500 and a Geforce 2 Ultra would you chose the Voodoo 5 because it has two GPUs? I don't think so.

Is the concept 'new drivers' that hard to uderstand? how can you say performance is this or that , and that its unstable if you havent seen it in action yet?
Rumour has it (or so i heard) they couldnt even get the 2 gpu's to work together yet  , maybe when they do we'll have something to look at. :afro2:

What will it matter if the cheats and IQ hacks are still present (and I bet dollars to doughnuts they will be)?

Actually, I'd get the Voodoo 5.../me likes IQ and real FSAA...and don't make me get into the whole driver issue, etc...
And I think faraday's post pretty much explains my point...
