This is what I would call "hot!" ^_^

Is ATi just lowering it to stop the progression the 5900XT has made? Now they're almost in the same bracket (since I can't find 5900XT's under $180 anymore--where did those $150-level BFG 5900NU's run off to? :( ).

Good news for us, that's for sure! Hehe... Makes me wonder just how close R420 is, though, as that would be another reason for notable price dives.

Interesting decision for Nvidia to raise price after holiday season (Tho price hasnt fluctuated that much) and for ATI to lower it after,

Kinda woulda made more sense to me to sell them on sale During Holidays for better sales.

Damn man, that's an amazing deal! Though I'd prefer to get the one from CompUSA, since it would be retail packaged and might even come with a HL2 coupon.

Nice Price.

I didn't expect the 9800 Pro to dip to or below $200 until the R420 was launched. :D

What's the deal with the black PCB?.
I could swear that I've seen those on newegg's site, but listed as (somthing like)
a radeon 9800 pro lite. Maybe they were sent back to be cranked up.
I've been reading that some people havent been clocking as high as the red's.
I'm only speculating here.
Personally I like the red color better anyway.

Here better hurry, Ends tomorrow:

Worse than that in fact.

There were some Sapphire 9800 Pro cards that were made on the black PCB that had the same floppy power connector like the 9700. Those were legit 9800 Pros, but reports indicate they didn't overclock nearly as well as those that were built on the red PCB and had the regular molex connector.

I'd say "even more reason to buy from CompUSA, then" but it seems like their online center is sold out! Have to cruise by the local stores and hope.

Oh well, we'll always have NewEgg. We didn’t have, we’d lost it, until you came to nVNews. We got it back last night.

Refurbished. Not such a great deal if you ask me.

Retail ATI Boxed 9800Pro:

http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24848

Not bad... as far as the 9600XT? Well this is what happened to me:

I bought one at Circuit City for $199.99 minus $50 dollars in rebates = $149.99. The card comes with the HL2 voucher and free Steam DL of all previous HL games and CS etc... no biggie but this summer (or whenever the damn game is released) it will be at least a $20 value to me.

So a few days later I was in CompUSA to pick up a Power Supply for my boys PC and there is a 9600XT for $169.99! I grab the flyer and drop by Circuit City (Across the parking lot) and get $30 + (10% of $30) + (Tax% of $30) lopped of the $199.99.

Any how, after all that I think they are paying me to buy the damn card. :-)

So I got a good deal on it. It runs like a champ too BTW. Even with a $17 Cheapo 250 watt PS ;)

Edit: Looks like the price of the 9800Pro went up again. Sorry too Late :(

$214 for a Sapphire 9800 Pro with free shipping? Jesus H. Christ! Newegg probably earned hundreds of new customers on this deal alone. If I didn't already have a working 9800 Pro and 9800 XT, I'd be all over this like cob on corn. Anyone with a card lower than a 9500 Pro or FX 5700 almost owes it to him/herself to pick one up. Newegg is no joke...no wonder they own all.

Refurbs, though. Never had good luck with those. I'd much rather spend the extra $20 and get new.

I dunno, 9600Pro perf with 2 vga outs (9800SE) for $108 is still a pretty sweet card... that's tempting, refurbed or not...
