Hi all,

I've published an article that explains how to proced to compile and install nvidia graphics drivers on fedora core 1, but this is valid for any other distro.

This is actually only in Portuguese Brazil, but if you want it translated to English and Spanish tell me and I will do it.

I'm a relative Linux newbie using Fedora Core 1 and could use this article in English.

Thanks,

man, as a REALLY green linux (fedora) user, I coud absolutely use some infos about how this works and how to get (and install) upgrades.
I mean... I'm as fresh as it gets, installed fedora today without having a clue about what will follow...! :surrender

Fedora users have several options for installing the drivers. I recommend the use of RPMs specially built for FC1, but I myself have used the nVIDIA installer alot as well; the choice is yours how to go about it.

It would be great if you could translate to english, it looks nice.

For you guys looking for more information you may consider the RPMs also. See the two links in my sig. The RPM available from rpm.livna.org contains several scripts that help to configure the driver as well as keep the graphical bootup working well. In either case, you really should understand what is being done, so read this and other articles anyway.

Just look at my other posts. My biggest issue was using the newest drivers. I dropped back to an earlier version of the Nvidia drivers and they installed without an issue. Read the readme too that comes with the drivers. :rolleyes2
