Yay! Thanks. :)

Two things. One, I thought they said it they were WHQL'ed but I still got the warning box. Not that I care, just curious. Two, there needs to be some way to save the application profiles, export them or something. I didn't remove the 56.55s hoping my settings would stick and they did except for the application profiles. It took a while to setup my settings for all my games so it is kind of a pain to have to go through and redo it now. Is there a way to save those settings other than possibly exporting the registry branch with the settings in them? I still haven't had a lot of luck deleting the ones that I don't want either. I'll go through the registry and delete them but after rebooting they're back in the registry. I must be missing something I guess.

I got a score of 25050 in Aquamark on my Ti4200 (64mb) - can someone tell me what a 9800pro would get ?

Just want to compare as I'm thinking of upgraading as prices are going down.

XP2000+ 1.67
1Gb DDr
TI4200 (64mb)
Win2k

Thanks,

My performance is down in Painkiller with these. I wonder if it's the same type issue that was found with UT2004? Anyone else seeing this?

Edit: Actually, I'm not sure that is the case. Using fraps the fps seem about the same. It just doesn't seem quite a smooth but maybe it's just my imagination.

Hmm....why even release those when the 56.55 are much better IMO?

Thanks,

A 9800pro would get about 40000+ Aquamarks.

1 new card supported in the inf.

NVIDIA_NV34.DEV_0327.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce FX 5100"

Doesn't seem to be much different from 56.55, will test more later.

In 56.55, win media player (when playing video) is minimised then maximised, freezes for about 5 seconds.
same with 56.57, so I'm guessing these do the same?

From what I have read at the Guru of 3D forums, the forceware 56.57 are fakes. I am not a 100% sure though.

could you copy the benchmark results here cause my firewall is blocking my access.

They do several benchmarks (COD, IL2, Q3, UT 2003, Splinter Cell, TR, Halo, Lock On). I'm not sure they'd be cool with me posting all their images here though since they wouldn't get the hits. I'll kind of summarize their results though. They compared the 52.16s and the 56.56s.

In COD, IL2, Splinter Cell, and Lock On the results were about the same for all cards.

Quake3 and Tomb Raider showed a slight decline in performance with the 5950. The other cards basically stayed the same.

Performance improved in Halo and UT2003. Bigger improvement with the 5950 but most cards showed a slight improvement as well.

Does anyone else have problems with BF1942? I think I'm going back to 53.03

Your CPU would probably hold you back some. On my setup, with my 9800 Pro overclocked as listed in my sig, I get more than 43,000. Stock speeds were slightly less than 43,000 IIRC - I'd have to look when I get home.

While the video card would be a good investment, I also would consider getting something like a Barton 2800+ processor as well. That will put you over 2 GHz on the CPU without overclocking plus a newer video card will scale much better with the faster proc. You might not even have to change motherboards either. The video card and CPU should cost around $320 or so.

saturn is right. ad with nvidia cards, CPU scaling is very important. nvidia uses load balancing in their drivers and your cpu will have a large effect on your performance.
