Please read the whole post befor answering, thanks :)
Okay, first the system specs:
NVIDIA GeForce 4ti 4200 using NVIDIA's 1.0-5336 linux video driver
XFree86 4.3.0 running KDE 3.2
I perfer to use 800x600 when running in KDE, but at 1024x768 when playing games in linux (NWN mainly, but a few others too)
However, if I add 1024x768 to my list of usable resolutions in my XF86Config file, it starts up in 1024x768.
If I switch manually to 800x600, then I get a vurtial desktop that is still 1024x768 even though I have virtual desktops disabled in my config file.
Is there any way I can switch to 800x600 screen res (or better yet, start the X server in that mode) and NOT have a virtual desktop of 1024x768
Any help appriciated :)
I have attached my XF86Config in case someone needs to look at it
