Well, it's pretty cool. Looks pretty nice too. :)
But playing these games using a keyboard is hard! It's getting boring pretty quickly smashing the car against trees etc. :D

either use a controller or a wheel n pedals

Actually I found controls with keyboard sufficient. Ain't a rallysport where u could finish a race without braking ;)

I will posts some screenshots in a bit. I managed a good range of fps with 4X AA and 8XAA on 1024 by 768 res with every graphics option maxed in game.

Can someone with an FX5950U or an 9800XT do some benches with Fraps? I'm curious as to what fps-rate you'll be getting on the current top of the line cards, since R420 ran at 100 fps (peaking out at 120 fps) with supposedly all details to the max. :)

Ya, but that was in 64ox480. :D If the R420 didn't do it in that resolution, then which resolution did the article say? Also, what were the quality settings and was it a AMD 64 or Intel Prescott or EE they used? What speed system memory did they also use? I am unsure how specific they were about it, maybe I missed that part of the article. :D

Peace,

:afro:

Well, i played with fraps running and the FPS was around 70-80 with 4xAA/8xAF 1024x768 and the game settings maxed. But who knows what settings they used with R420. Was it even the demo? Maybe there's more graphics settings in the full game, i dunno.
Many questions, no answers. :p

Did I say I was impressed by the demo. Great of Rally sim fans I think. Sounds great, graphics great the foilage move as if moved by wind etc. Dunno how much DX9 went into this but i suspect teh foilage is DX9 somewhere as the foilage was in Tiger Woods 2004.

The graphics might be sweet when moving, but it aint exactly a screen-shot game is it. Not knocking it or anything, but all those screen-shots look mostly the same, and theres not much happening, except dull rally track n trees..

Ya you are SS don't do it any justice!

Great sense of speed in it though.

Dull trees in SS but the bracnhes and stuff move and it gives somewhat of a feeling you are actually going thru a forrest etc unlike before when they were cr@ppy 2D things ie CMR2 :)

Well, I hope it isn't as unforgiving as some sims..

I like my racers like I like my women.... Fake and non-realistic... And with big boobs..

What do you use to take the screen shot? I just use "Print Screen" Works fine for me then copy and paste to MS Paint. Cheap way but hey, it works.

The game is utter crap except for car physics, i don't know why most of you are so horny about it.

its kewl for drifting but its too damn easy...

whats the point of having records when you are coming in 20-30 seconds ahead of the curve

graphics are pretty decent for a game of this genre and the driving is fun :D but if onyl the game were more challenging :(

sound effects are kewl too btw...

Well, car models are nice, the environment could use some lessons from Rallysport Challenge. Also I couldn't seem to spot any DX9 features... except maybe some PS 2.0 on the track in Japan. The physics needs alot of work though, like driving a boat :)

Look how leet of a driver I am:

well.. turn off vsync, and see if your fps goes higher. The fps might not be able to hit your refresh rate... 90 refresh rate? so its getting halved.

Also, this game supposly has DX9 features, so that might explain the low fps on the NV side:)

Also, does this game use a framerate limiter? Playing with vsync on I'm getting 43 fps on the nvidia side and ATI side.

Although, with the AIW 9800 Pro (using cat 4.2), I get 43 for the in-car view and the outside view. With the 5900U (using det 56.56), I get 43 for the in-car view but I bounce between 43 or so down to the 20s using the outside view. It's even very noticeable right at the start where it pans around the car before the race starts.

I think something is wrong with your system with more powerful CPU, high speed memory and overclocked 5900 Ultra, it should be as twice faster than mine, I used the same driver, the game is very smooth and more than playable on my system with V-Sync on.

I used the all settings maxed with 1024x768x32, 4xFSAA, 8xAF and V-Sync on. On all 3 tracks, I get 35-55fps on behind the car wheels, 45-60fps in both in car view and outside view, the fps never dropped below 30fps. Before the race starts, the fps stayed at 50fps, it didnt dropped like you said.

I may have a good idea why your system has the problem, maybe you got fiiles stored in your hidden temp folder in Documents and Settings folder, if the files here, then deleted it and things should be fine. :)
