Like most of you I have down loaded and installed Bootvis. (http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hwdev/platform/performance/fastboot/BootVis.mspx) What I did not know until today was that is does not help with boot up performance. I never bothered to check the performance before and after I ran the program. I just ran it and left it. Hmm guess you learn something new...every once in a while.

Good day UDawg. For some strange reason, Bootvis enters an infinite loop after restarting for the first time on my machine and never completes. I gave up a long time ago. I think the benefits would be minimal anyway.

I've personally had better luck with Raxco Perfect Disk. Diskeeper would randomly cause my system to crash. But as they say, to each.... ;)

Sorry to hear that. Diskeeper is good specially for NTFS partitions. Never had any problems wit it.

I've had diskeeper home edition for about 3 months and no problems. I emailed them and asked if I could upgrade to the proffessional edition and they sent me a link to download the complete program at no extra charge. I ran the boot defrag and it significantly increased my disc speed. Great program!
