According to an article in PC Format magazine in the UK. An interview with Richard Huddy, developer relations guy for ati says that : "irrespective of similarities or differences between NV40 and R420 he can clearly state that R420 will beat NV40".

We'll wait and see, too many rumors floating around right now.

What he really means is he HOPES it will. "lol" ;)
Nvidia knows ati is going to have a much faster chip
than the R360 was.
So will they. :)

At least Ati floats it's opinion through an official representative. Nvidia always use obscure tests and rumors which even something seems to origin from the other camp (powerpoint slides anyone).

And what was ATI doing durning shaderdays " I think it was" with Gabe? "Slides anyone?"
PR is going to work really hard in both camps. :angel2:

You just proof my point. Ati will address the point in public. Not "invent" up false statements and float the information as being released by Nvidia. Nvidia however did exactly this thing.
Ati discusses openly and you can agree/disagree. Nvidia leaks information as if Ati is the sorce of the information.
BIG difference

"I have heard from a friend to a friend to a friend that there will be no R420 or R500. ATI will go directly to the R600 and it will have so many pipes that they use the codename "churchorgan" and when it gets really hot it will play music by Bach. Atleast that is what I have heard."
:D :D

I think in the quote above he meant, "as if NV is the sorce of the information"
(And don't forget leaked cheating drivers.)
From reading these forums actively lately it seems as if nvidiots are in an extreme case of denial. "Poof" gone from memory is all of NV's shocking cheating and PR antics. (Hey, don't forget "quack" )
Just what NV was counting on. With NV40, its a whole new company.
