Are you going to be gaming with it? Does it have to be PCI or can it be AGP? Give us a little more to go with. :) Also what games will you be playing with this card?

9600XT

This is a little slower then the 9600XT but is near your price range.
Its faster then the 5700 non Ultra.

I think the better question is, what are you upgradeing from?

Alot of times cards in that price range can be slower than what people have already heh.

I honestly feel that you will not feel that you have had a upgrade unless you buy at LEAST a 5900 Non-Ultra($190) or a Radeon 9800 Pro($209).

Yes, spending $135 may give you a few more fps's but i really would save up an extra 75$ and get a upgrade that you will REALLY notice.

Spending your money on a video card now will be more of a lateral move than anything else. Save up that cash and buy the cards mentioned above (5900 or 9800). Once the NV40 and R420 come out, the prices on those cards should come down even more.

or replace AT LEAST your mobo and memory (i845/SDRAM) to let the Celly 2.0 @ 2.2 and the GF3 breathe a little better... ;) :p

The 9600XT or the 5700 will be a nice upgrade from a TI500,I don't know what the rest of your system is,but I upgraded my kids 1.3celi and 512mb of ram that had a G.F.3 and it would'nt play NFSU except being like a slide show, but when I upgraded to a 9500pro and it plays smooth now at 1024x768 resolution.

Thanks for the info guys!

I ended up buying a Radeon 9700pro card from a friend for 100$ :D

I hooked him up awhile ago on a set of rims for his car so i guess you could say he owed me. Cant wait to try this.

Any programs for overclocking? I dont know much about ATI cards. Any good ATI information sites? Thanks.

go to rage3d.com and download rage3d tweak. The 9700PRO if it has the samsung A2 or -2.8 ram can do 335 with no problems and with volt mod can it 350 and up. The care can do with stock cooling about 340 to 350. with voltmod to the core and better cooling, you cand hit 380 and up to 430.

Download ATITOOL it will find your max core and memory overclock for you, with my 9500pro it finds my core at around 400 and the memory at 295,witch is pretty close to what I can run 2003benchmark,witch I can run at 395/290 with no artifacts, but with 2001se I can run 405/290 with no artifacts.
