What makes nvforum the best forum on the net ? :)
great information, people, atmosphere etc.

Since becoming Rage3D's twin only one thing makes nVForums stand out: nVidia links to us. That's it, really. The forum's personality has turned sour, the originality is gone, and it's turning into a failing attempt to recreate the old UBB5 days.
Look around. You see old guys throwing fits over mods doing their jobs, newbies throwing fits over "free speech violations", wild accusations, insults, and general smeh flying over the tiniest little thing.
You know, I used to hard sell this place. If I saw someone at another forum that was looking for a place to go for their nVidia needs, I'd send them here. if someone was getting thrashed and trashed needlessly for being intelligent, I'd send them here. I can't do that in good conscience anymore. Now, I just move and edit where I can and pray that people will act a little better each time.
Best on the net for Nvidia stuff? Sure. Best on the 'net? Not by a long shot.

Are we the best on the net? I'd have to say no.
I've met quite a few good people here, but overall, since the upgrade to UBB6, everything has gone downhill.

Despite what I've said, some of the best people on the net ARE here. There's a tight core of people that were here when this place started and, by gosh, they'll be here when the 'net is replaced by something else. Thick or thin, bad or good, these people have persevered the hard times. They're not just members, they are nVNews. I wish I could count myself among them!
Forgive me for leaving out the unsung heroes earlier. Every site has them, but I believe ours are the best. 3 upgrades, a server move, and a major hack attack and they've stuck around. Cin cin!

The internet is a breeding ground for this sort of insanity. People taking things way too personally and people not taking things personally enough. Its bound to happen no matter what when you give people the gift of disconnected anonymity. Everyone has a chip on their shoulder and everyone else is trying to knock it off.
If I had to choose, I'd choose NVNews forums. Why? Because it doesn't happen here as much as a lot of other message boards. Heck, this place is quite tame.
I rather like it.

Last I checked, "Cin cin" (pronounced chin chin) was an Italian toast... Dunno about any Japanese slang.
I've been on various forums for years now {AGN3D-R.I.P.} and seen things from both mod and member perspectives. In addition to what volt said: even though things may get heated at times, the ability for folks to have their say without flamed. This can be a tricky balance at times.
Forums go through cycles and this cycle is no different. Forums change over time as new members join and old members drop away. Its the way of the net. As for mod-member clashes that too is nothing new. I tend to ignore/not get involved in those matters and go about my business {this also applies to some threads}.

Maybe it's because I don't hang out in the PF forum that often, but I don't really notice any of the above stuff.
