I installed the NVIDIA drivers (version 53.03) and now every time I start Windows I get this annoying NVIDIA Settings tray icon. How do I disable it?

Properties > Settings > Advanced > GeforceFX 5200 tab

Desktop Utilities or Troubleshooting tab on the newer drivers, Deselect the 'Display Media Centre icon in the taskbar'.

Go into the display control panel, click on the "Troubleshooting" tab and uncheck the box.
