they almost always had a ultra verson. I am thinking the non ultra cores are those that didnt make ultra speeds so many probably wont overclock to ultra speeds without serious cooling and perhaps vmods as well. however the price difference makes the non ultras the much better deal. My guess is 550/1200 for the ultra, 475/950 for the non ultra. The average overclock of the ultra may be perhaps 575/1325 while the non ultra may do like 530/1050 making the non ultra really sweet deal if the only difference is a bit slower but major savings. think ti4200 vs. ti4600

Yeah I am very impressed with the pricing, NV40 Ultra is the same price as when NV38 launched and will use the same PCB 8 layers as previous NV35 and NV38. I find NV40 Non-Ultra with very very attractive price of $299 targeting at mainstream, in here it will be £199 inc VAT, it will be the best selling here.
ATI will find it very difficult to make money out of R380 targeting at mainstream, they will completely lost mainstream and value to Nvidia, Nvidia seemed has the best and very attractive top to bottom NV4x lines with all prices.

*sarcasm*
The INQ must have their top secret spies at Nvidia working overtime to find this one out.

I've noticed you are a bit of a jackass at times, not a wise idea.
I hope they're right about the NV40 Ultra only being $499. I was afraid it would end up being more than that.

There's no way NVIDIA can go above $499, at least if they want to gain some shares in the high end market.
I bet they're pretty mad about ATI's 80% atm. :)
But who knows, say NV40 is 30% faster than R420, then i guess people still would buy one for $599 or more. (I know i would :D )

Noooo! Don't say that. If anyone from nvidia is reading this, he was just kidding. No one would buy the card if it is over $499 even if it is a lot faster. :)

Hehe. :D
I've never seen an NVIDIA employee here so it's cool.
Maybe they're lurking in the shadows? :bleh:

You might want to seek confirmation and/or proof first, given a) the timing of the post, b) the lack of e-mail address, and c) their (as far as I know) still current policy of not allowing forum interaction.
The name is genuine, but that is easily faked.

Ultra - $499 ------> OK
Non ultra - $299 ? Could be a typo. I think probably $399.
If really $299, it will be a best seller.
