I downloaded the Far Cry and Colin McRae Rally 04 demos. Far Cry locks-up when I just enter the game menu (where you select Options and all) and Colin locks-ups while loading the game. Why? All the older games work fine. I know I computer is crap and all, but the games should atleast run.

I would sugest a radeon 8500/9200 plus because its still available to buy... has a nice 128 and will still be suported by ati with newer drivers that increase the quality of the card

By the way, UT2004 works perfectly.

That's expected because it's based on an "older" engine. There's nothing terribly new about UT2004 when compared to 2003.

So it's the hardware and not the drivers, right?

The developers just don't like you, they are out to get you. I should know because they are also out to get me, and they have already sent exploding ninja monkeys to my house now the dang things won't leave. :D

But seriously I think it is your hardware.

I'd suggest a new Video card. That card is Org radeon, right? Well, for "$50-100" you can get a video card that WONT lock up and be better anyways.. :)
