Uttar first said that it was 16X1/8X2, 16X0? ..then he said it was 6X2+4X1 etc. So which one is he refering too? No one is still none-the-wiser (TM)

He first told 8x2 then 6x2.

what matters is that he says he was wrong and by this:

What other rumors have everyone been noticing besides the 16x1 one?

Are u talking about Uttar or inkewll or someone else?

Dunno what you are on about? He said 16X1(8X2) first then, changed it to 6X2 which could be 12X1 or 6X2+4X1. He hasn't since then mentioned abothing about 16X1. Since then only inkwell has mentioned/speculated that NV40 will have a full 16X1 pipeline. So are u on about Uttar or Inkwell?

does he work for or have relations with nvidia? Maybe one of his friends works, so his sources are secondary. also with the nda floating around, theres gonna be alot of rumors and incorrect info up till a couple days before the release of the nv40. Nvidias way of saying 16 pipes could just mean 8x2 pipes that behaive like 16 pipes in specific situations

He gets lspecs leaked to him etc from gawd knows who ;)

I am inclined to believe that the NV40 maybe able to do 16X1 as u do in certain situations and 8x2 others in the simplest sense. As the launch draws nearer we will probably get to know even more. just seems the launch keeps on getting pushed back...and back....and back....arghhhh

ok here is my whole take on uttar and his "inside information" i really think nvidia knows who he really is and is perposfully leaking info as to confuse the issue ... i noticed this a while back when reading his posts ...... i work for a large corperation and have seen inside information get leaked and the top brass track it back to a single person....lets just say that person couldnt find a job for several years after that ..... well its really easy to find out who is saying what and when .... i just think nvidia knows who he is and is useing him for there little game that they have going on with ati.....
well we all have to be glad we had his inside info and he was willing to share it with us.

I do not think anyone other than nvidia really knows what the NV40 is.
But look at it this way.... He has covered all the bases.
So no matter what it is 16x0 or whatever it's covered. "lol" :D ;)

He's talking about any/all rumours about pipeline configurations before 16x1/32x0, as far as I'm aware - since it IS 16x1/32x0 (unless Kirk doesn't know his ass from his elbow, which is doubtful).

8 pipelines, Speculation: probably 8x2 and no 16 zixel trick ( not worth it with 4x+ AA, which is really a minimum with 48GB/s of bandwidth ) - Maybe such a bypass path for low-end models ( NV42/NV43 )

It was some time later that he speculated it could be anything from 6x2 to 16x0 depending on the situation. Then we had the 16x1/32x0 rumours. I dunno what his current opinion is.

I think more likelyt that leaks will come from sites who have managed to borrow cards with no NDA, ier Korean, Taiwan or Japanese !

and how would they borrow cards in the first place if someone with NDA has engineering samples? We are halfway thru march already :eek: does anyone even know when the NDA will expire or could we be waiting "forever"
