*sniff*

My good old enermax 460w died on me today... pretty new also, nice of it to die right before all the good games come out:rolleyes: Sooo... I ordered an Enermax noisetaker. It actually runs for a few minutes after you shut your system off to get rid of all the heat:) Good idea IMO.

No its useless. Enermax is also a cheap brand. I had one and the PC reboots if I disconnect/reconnect the PS2 keyboard.

even though the PSU is very heavy doesn't mean they use 0.00044ohm superfets (http://www.hackerbrushless.com/cars/touring.shtml).

a real good PSU test.

Final Result: YES! In the closest match to specified conditions, at an intake temperature of 39~41C with the PSU running at 150W load, the noise measured 28 dBA @ 1 meter. Given this result, the Super Tornado would most likely pass a formal, more stringent test for the section 5.7 low noise guideline in Intel's ATX12V v1.3 PSU Design Guide.

Enermax is a great brand. We're currently running four machines with Enermax PSUs at our house, and I have built five or six machines for people, all with Enermax PSUs, and have never received a single complaint. They're relatively cheap, quiet, and just plain work.

Me too. And mine is one of those 460's. :(

(Knock on wood- no trouble with mine so far.)

I dunno, I always use enermax, I once bought an Antec PSU from compusa, and right out of the box the bottom fan did not work. The power supply works great, but a dead fan out of the box kinda sucks.

I am using a Thermaltake 480w here works like a charm and i can monitor the fan speed and tempture and manually control it :)

I got a fan control on my enermax.. dont need to monitor it tho, automatically kicks into high gear if things get too hot anyway.

Enermax are not bad, They are in no way high end either IMO. Antec are one of my favorite..The True Blue 480W is what I am currently using.

PC Power and Cooling are damn fine... And have a price tag to match.:firedevil

Very true. But if there's one component you shouldn't skimp on it's the PSU. In the grand scheme of things, the $197 for their 510W Turbo-Cool Deluxe isn't all that bad.

PC Power and Cooling are teh m0st ub3r 1337 psu's :D

I'm currently using a nice Silent Antec psu, very stable voltage to all rails. Enermax psu's aren't slotches either, just think yers just hit the end of its life.

Holy 510W??? Seems like a hell of a lot of wattage there. I get by w/430W no problem-o, see my sig. :)

My PSU is 420W and it gets along wonderfully with all my components. Plus it's SATA ready.

But PC Power & Cooling has a 425W version of the Turbo Cool Deluxe and it's on sale for $135 this month. That's a bargain if you ask me.

Maybe, but you sure are buying a lot of peace of mind with one of those. The old adage stands here - better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. ;)
