Nobody knows for sure. Just hold your breath till mid april when both cards will (according to the rumors) be launched and more information on when the cards hit the retail channels will become available.

ut2004 is cpu intensive, you should get 50fps or more in 1600x1200 in that game with a fast barton. Once I do a windows reinstall, I should get around 50fps with my ti4200. doom3 will be the real reason for a new card if you wanna play above 800x600  :afro2:

Not only Doom III my friend. HL2, Far Cry, Stalker come to mind. ;) Those games are going to push the envelop for purdy graphic effects!

Good thing we have new gpus launching eh? :D

OK, then it is good the R320 have 4 vertex shaders then? the more offload of CPU the more AI and cool-looking physics and ragdolls. Maybe even polygonized blood that "splatters" and stick to the floor.

Maybe there's a lot of potential in polygons and not only fillrate. :)

R320? Do you mean R420?

Anyway, the original R300 already has 4 VS.

The smart thing maybe to wait utill retail boards hit...then the price of old gen VPU/GPU based cards will go down.
