Maybe we'll see real cards in May. It usually takes at least a month or so for the partners to get them out after the GPU is officially launched.

Anyone else eagerly awaiting what cool demos nvidia has this time up their sleeves to demonstrate the power of the nv40?

I can't wait until the new cards get here. I have been waiting a long time. I have had my 9700Pro for around 16-17 months now. That's the longest I ever had a graphics card. I usually upgrade at least once a year. I never upgraded because the performance jump with the refresh parts was not that great. With the new cards we should see some monster performance jumps. It's looking like gaming at 1600X1200 4XAA/8XAF will be fully playable. :)

Yeah I can't wait for another Dawn to come and show the awesome power only featured on nvidias card, until some smart people get it working faster on ati's card

I'm really hoping Nvidia will pull ahead this time. As much as I like my Radeon cards, I still like Nvidia's drivers better. I've been an avid 3dfx user and an "Nvidiot" since the good old riva128 days right up until the R9700PRO utterly destroyed the GF4 Ti4600 in high res/af/fsaa situations. For the first 3 months I really hated ATI's drivers. They did get much better, and I''ve learned to live with them, but IMHO there are still quirks.

Anyway enough rant here, I'm just hoping Nvidia gets this one exactly right, and that performance is just as good or even better than rumored. That would make even Far Cry really playable @ 1600x1200. Maybe even with a tad of fsaa and af

Sounds good to me, then the prices of the current cards can drop and I'll be able to upgrade from my TI4200 (9800 for $100...:drooling: )

I dont see 9800 pros dropping to $100 anytime soon, maybe late 2006 :clap2: Ive had my tnt for 2 years, my geforce2mx for 2 years and now will have my ti4200 for at least 2 years

Hopefully nvidia will make 3 higher end parts like they did with the geforce 4 ti's that are clocked differently, but technologically the same. Then you can buy a really good chip for $200 cheaper (in canada anyways) compared to the ultra-high end piece, and then overclock a bit. (ti4200's anyone) Or I'll just go with the high end one.
