Well, I'm not getting the thing why person like vampireuk is posting threads like this (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=26511) in these forums. Unless you want to get rid of persons like Catalyst maker and don't have the guts to ask them to leave.

It was extremely mild tongue and cheek-ish. Far, far worse has been posted here about both ATI and NVIDIA regarding drivers, IQ, shaders, etc, etc, etc.

Not like he posts much here anyway. Someone else always announces new drivers before him, and then his response is, "Yep, we got them new drivers out, go downloads 'em at our site." God forbid he actually try to answer some of the criticism. And don't give me that whole ATI feedback section crap. I've used it for the past several driver releases (regarding OpenGL gamma problems among others) and fat lot of good it's done.

Perhaps ATI can form a committee to study the possibility of them thinking about changing their policy for beta testing and driver releases. :angel2:

So true, I've submitted so many problems to the feedback section and nothing has changed. I've posted in the threads where he asks for feedback about the same problems and nothing again.

God forbid I inject a little humour into a message board

Edit: I post a little joke about the degrading quality of the Catalyst drivers and suddenly I'm trying to evily drive away any ATI employees, I post a major problem about the drivers and I'm a fanboy who should stop playing such old games "coz thye are liek teh lame old gamez LOLZ!!1"

Really people we have actually been hiding something from you over these past months, problems arising, posters vanishing never to return. I'm sorry but I have to rat Mike out here, the real reason behind this is, Majestic 12  :screwy:

You mean a NVIDIA fanboy mod, with a 9700 pro? And the posters banned before they post, a guy that constantly re-registered after he was banned and we caught him out before he could start trolling again

Wow you kids really are stretching for reasons to try and discredit us these days arnt you?

Everyone his own...

In my opinion a mod lis like a policeman. He reprsents an assinged authority. He determines who abides the law and who not. He decides when he intervines and takes action. This role is surelu needed. But has to be done in an imparcial way. Making jokes of one IHV and banning posters who are subjective to on IHV but not banning psters who are subjective to another IHV is not being imparcial.

Than again. All posters that sign up to NVnews (or any other forum) agree that the mods can take action without explaining the reason. So legally all poster have to agree with any action taken by a mod.

First of all there is no legal issue to this (I doubt anybody could sue over a mod decision on a message board :D), people are free to object to a decision. Of course nobody ever follows the set criteria for doing so, they prefer to cry and whine about it in public instead of contacting another mod or admin via pm.

I've made it quite clear to people that as long as they don't cause trouble and act like jerks I will be completely fine, of course you get idiot trolls turning up causing nothing but trouble. I refuse to show them one ounce of respect as they deserve none. I've made plenty of wise cracks at NVIDIA in the past, it just so happens that at the moment I am having problems with ATI drivers so I'm making fun of that. Nobody has ever been banned here simply for supporting another company, some would want you to think that but the truth is that those who are gone have been long time trouble makers, some of whom have been banned previously but who we gave a second chance and they botched it.

What I meant is the agreement between Nvnews and the poster. Anyone who signs up agrees with the T&C of NVnews.

Well, let's just say that different people have different opinions. I will leave the discussion here as it seems you will maintain your point of view and I will keep my opinion.

Andre, it appears blatantly clear to me that you have not spent time at other message boards. nV News is one of the most fairly moderated sites on the Web. It doesn't matter if you support ATI or NVIDIA or Bitboys, if you're a jackass you will be dealt with promptly and harshly. There are certain "other" video card sites that aren't moderated nearly as strictly or fairly.

One thing everyone has to keep in mind is that this is a privately owned message board. Posting here is a privilege, not a right.

Thank you sat for your post

Don't know what happend with my previous post (never mind)

It is blatantly clear I ahve spend more than 4 years on different forums and my experience is that NV new is moderated strcitly but not always fairly. Again this is my experience. Other "video" boards are moderated by mods which are of the same calibre or quality. Again my opinion!

That certainly is your opinion, and if you do not happen to like the way this forum is moderated, you are free to leave at any time. You are very much in the minority when it comes to the views on how this board is operated.

Nothing wrong with a little spirited debate. You can't expect everyone to think alike or have the same opinions on a certain subject. Sometimes people should just be able to agree to disagree on a certain subject instead of beating a dead horse. The personal attacks and cheap shots need to go however.

if you were here last year around this time you would know what FLAME BAIT and related threads were all about m8... this is nothing...

the other boards I personally go to happen to have as many or more technically proficient people but all boards have the same general breed of spammers who detract from regular threads with inane banter... I don't doubt I have posted some inane banter myself but when the topic is serious and the tone as much I do take a slightly different stance and post in that manner...

the boards here ARE moderated fairly... if you have seen bannings or closed threads it is generally when the people concerned have already been warned and the like... we may not always agree with the mods decisions, believe me I don't all the time... but the mods have a right to make the decisions they do... we have agreed to the terms and conditions of the boards when signing on here...

there were certain liberties given and abused when the nv30 discussions were on-going and certain of the liberties that were abused have been scrutinised more so now than they were before.... so in that sense there is a slight change... other than that the general atmosphere is pretty much the same as it was before...

a couple of people who have chosen to leave have left with sour grapes and bring it up on various boards across the net... it happens everywhere...

also consider all boards are different ;) nvnews is not obligated to conform to the standards and expectations of people who choose to partiticipate in discussions... however if you hang around and keep an open mind and join us on the IRC channel you will notice that its not all bad :D
