Anybody at home and can test to see if the far cry fog issue is fixed for everyone? It lists 5950 but I hope they mean everyone. :)

My current Problem persists with Forceware 56.72
ive tested under my normal XPSP1 and a clean TestXPSP1 Installation
same failures with Conan+Patch v1.03
.................................................. .................................................
The Texture RENDERING PROBLEM doesnt exsist with these DRIVERs
because only in the 56.64 there are in CONAN http://www.conangame.com
Texture Rendering Problems
some normal Textures are Overlayed by Grey Transparent Textures.

in ForceWare 56.56 and 56.55 the TextureRendering was ok
but in the newest 03.March.2004 Driver 56.64 doesent its a new introduced Bug. Ive testet it on a second clean WinXP Install where no
other interferring Programms are installed there it is the same.
Currently i dont found anymore Bugs that are so Viewable.

Thanks nVIDIA for fixing the FC's fog issue ! that was a quick response .
however i noticed the PS1.1/2.0 effects in some places has gone! thats may explain why performance got better ! :p

on other hand Painkiller's Demo performance has improved for me a bit ! :)

56.72 is very buggy here on my system.

1) Whenever I right-click on any AVI in Explorer, the whole screen flashes black for a second, as if the video display had just reset itself

2) Everytime I launch WinDVD 5 I get Explorer.exe crashing in module nvcpl.dll.

Going back to 56.64, both problems go away. I suspect these are both overlay-related issues.

This is under WinXP SP1 with a GF4 TI4400 (nio overclocking involved).

Pixels missing in Links 2003.Also missing in any driver above 53.06.Screen size shrinks in TW 2004 as did in 56.64. TW 2003 has stuttering problems in any 50 series drivers.Appears nvidia has a long way to go.I am presently using 56.55.Except for Links and TW 2003 all other games ok.Current card FX5900NU. Previous card TI 4800SE with 44.03 drivers and never any problems.

I would go back to 53.06 but feel IQ is better with 56.55.

Check their release notes, I saw something in there about a problem with WinDVD. nVidia said it's WinDVD's problem and nVidia can't fix it from their end, or something like that.

I checked, and they refer to an old issue only occuring when using the WinDVD MPEG-2 codec in WMP, not the same one I've been experiencing only since 56.72. I was already aware of that one, the Explorer.exe crash occurs when using the WinDVD player, not WMP.

I love how Nvidia says these drivers are WHQL on the web page, has "whql" in the file name, yet they are not actually WHQL certified. Neither the English or International versions have the certification files.

This is the second time they have done this. I am guessing that in a few days we will see a message on the driver page saying the packages were updated with the real WHQL drivers (just like last time).

Terrible Texture Rendering Issues in FarCry in 1280x1024 Resolution
P4HT 2,6 GHZ 1GB RAM FX5900 128MB
there are rainbow Blinkering Textures and square and checker Patterns on
Textures it isnt a Temperature Problem ive checked Everything lowering
the Core Clock e.g. UT2004 runs fine and Call of Duty only FarCry seems
VERY BUGGY with these new Drivers in High Resolutions.

What BFV issues?

04-02-04, 11:30 AM
These have solved my Far Cry 1.1 patch problems; I now have the indoor bits much smoother, no gfx glitching

04-02-04, 01:49 PM
No probs so far, don't have or want Farcry.

04-02-04, 03:12 PM
I thought BF:VN was fine before with the 56.64 drivers, but these 56.72 drivers improved BF:VN for me. It runs even smoother and the image looks prettier with improved lighting/darkness/shadows.

2 thumbs up for nVidia from me.
