This is in the idea stage right now. We would like to see how many would attend on nV News LAN party. It would likely be held in the NewYork City area, sometime in spring 2003. Please indicate if you believe you would attend such an event in the poll above. Again, this is just in the idea stage, if enough people vote yes then we begin planning the details.

It would be really cool, but with me living in Kansas and being in school I dunno if I could make it.

Those who are voting...it would really do a lot of good if you could take an extra 5sec and post whether you'd go as well...A bunch of numbers in the end are all well and good....though it would be a lot more useful if we knew the names of the people who would be going...

:D

How about all of us in the west coast beg nVIDIA to pay for plane tickets! lol, and all of us in the military can just jump into a C-130 and parachute onto Central Park.:p

Oh man, that nV LP (credits go to appropriate person :D) is getting hotter and hotter. Can't wait for what NVIDIA has to say about that :)

I'll talk to Brian and Bryan and see if we can't get this show on the road...

Hopefully, I'll get a great response from NVIDIA and we'll be planning a killer LAN-party!

Note: Can you imagine how crazy the after-party would be?

Tee hee hee....I love NYC.....

From Brian:

"Sounds like a good idea. Glad to see one of our affiliates networks being
aggressive. This does not fall under my umbrella."

( Goes on to list a new contact )

I'm waiting to hear from this new contact....we'll see....

Sounds promising though... :D

I just got off the phone with Sheryl at NVIDIA...They are behind us 100% and will be more than happy to work with us and provide support...In addition, we'll be getting AMD to come along as well as a few others....

I will be emailing various contacts at other hardware and gaming websites to garner support...

At this time, no concrete date is set...All we know is it will be sometime between Feb. and April 2003...

The expected attendance will be huge...this event is looking to be enormous!

That's some great info, but I won't be able to show up with my rig in March or April. :(
By the way, how does NYC sound for them ?

NYC looks great...though we are also looking at a few other areas such as Dallas and Silicon Valley....

The only obstacle for NYC is the cost of rooms and finding a large venue...

( NVIDIA wants to try for Madison Square Garden!!! )

After all the running around I've been doing for this ( with an uphill battle still in front of me )....You'd better believe nV News will be getting some serious recognition.....We're the ones who developed the idea and have gotten the ball rolling!!!

Actually...you folks have it easy... :D

I'll be contacting everyone as soon as I hear back from AMD with some additional information...

I've got a list of about 30 industry contacts from a number of different websites/companies......we should be golden... :)

I just want to solidify some details with the major sponsors before I approach anyone....that way, we're all on the same page...

I've chosen to take the full workload with this because an event this large is inherently complicated....If I handle contacts myself, I can keep an accurate record of who I have talked to and what everyone is responsible for...

Once we get closer, I will surely need some help though! :D
