Has someone of you a solution how to solve the mousecursor-bug when installing the nvidia Windows NT 4.0 driver on ReactOS? I've made all that hard work (patching nv4_mini.sys, recompiling the registry) to install the driver on ReactOS and now I have an ugly mousecursor with that it isn't easy to point at an 'x' of an application to close it. :retard:
So, can somebody give me a tip how to solve this bug? :kill:
You should really try this very good free, open-source alternative of Window$

Probably not since no one on this board has never heard of this OS.

They have one with fully supported NVIDIA drivers - it's called Linux.

native Nvidia and Ati drivers work fine on the BeOS. ;)

After researching a bit into ReactOS, here is a very quick breakdown.

It tries to be like Windows NT4, and it claims it can use drivers and stuff for anything that has drivers for NT4 etc, witch is a cool idea, accept

1. Drivers really sucked for NT4
2. Most people gave up on makeing drivers for NT4

Im gonna install this on a virtual machien and play with it though!

Now if it could be like Windows 2000, they would have something there. But NT 4 was pretty craptacular overall.

Yeah, NT4 was great when it came out, it didnt do the 'dumb' stuff 9x did. But i cant see how people still use it today.

But the only cool thing about NT was that it ran on Alpha, Sparc and a bunch of others : )

NT 4 was a pure business OS. Starcraft and Diablo were practically the only games that ran on it. Hell, I think Linux has more native game support than NT 4 ever did.

Though it wasn't Microsoft's intention, 2000 was (and still is) a good gaming OS, especially if OpenGL is your thing. :D

I was playing with ReactOS useing MicroSoft Virtual PC, and it crashed many times, and had many locks. Now, sure it was a virtual pc, but i have to say i never had a hangup with "Winders XP,NT4(heh), Slackware 9.1, Gentoo and finally winders 98 (it was just for fun)

React OS is Linux, but they are re-compiling it to act like Win NT4, they are also contemplating WinXP

Ah, that is very cool, useing linux code, and i belive some WINE code to allow winders code to run, tha is a really cool idea, i like it.

I just wonder if M$ will have a fit and if they can start getting sue happy like usual.
