Do I need to install them for Windows 2000?

Secondly, should I have a fixed Swap File or let Windows manage it?

I think u need them drivers but Windows 2000 should have the most generic form of those said drivers. Head on over to www.viaarena.com. U might be able to dig some more info.

That Web site does have the newer ones but are they worth installing? I have a really old motherboard chipset.

swapfiles...since your memory is low maybe...it is best to let windows manage it. I dunno, other ppl might reccomend doing so differently.

Windows2000 dont have genric VIA support for apg 3.0 and faster IDE support so best get the 4-in-1 driver pack. Also get the service pack as default win2k only supported udma66.

By the way, since I have a very outdated computer, should I format as FAT32 or NTFS for Windows 2000?

ntfs is a superior format and I am sure your system should be fine running win2k on an ntfs partition..

The 4 in 1s have been OS unified since the Hyperions if I am not mistaken.

If u use NTFS be sure to disable indexing...sorta helps make your HDD performance a lil faster :D....i think
