That cant be right!
The chip cooler on the "new" pic of the 6800U has to cost them $70!
The chip itself must cost in the area of $100
Plus a 10 layer PCB (another guess)
connectors and supporting components
Assembly costs.
Packaging and shipping.
I think they'd be selling it for a loss at $399.
Just my 2cents
That would be great if true and maybe help drive down the prices for once.
Not as far fetched as its sounds. Console hardware is often sold at a loss, to get better sales, which make more money in software.
It wouldn't be absurd to think the small minority of top end Ultra's sold are sold at virtually 0 profit, and make money on the mid and low end range.

if you scroll down the page and look at the radeon... look at how they will have a $299 also, btu it will be hampered by the 128 bit memory interface but nvidia isnt doing that. woohoo for me!

That would be sweet, 399.99 for ultra model.
This is one way nVidia would take back some of the market share they lost
to Ati.

$400, $600, $700......doesnt matter for me. I'll buy it the day it hit online store. I'm tired of playing far cry with my 5950 ultra and only get so-so fps. Give me 60fps or give me death.

I still think the ultra will easily be $500 but high end cards always have been that much the last 3 years. the non ultra looks to be a good deal, almost the same clocks, 90% the performance of the ultra and waaaaaaaay faster than the x800se!
