I'm having some problems activating the digital out on the integrated soundcard. Is it possible? Anyone succeded?

I've tried with both nvidias drivers and ALSA (http://www.alsa-project.org) drivers, got "analog audio" working with both drivers but not been able to get the spdif working.

I have an Asus A7N266-E

seems that spdif out isn't supported (yet), please anybody correct me if I'm wrong

Does anyone know, or has anyone heard if they have announced SPDIF digital audio support for Linux for the nForce chipset yet? Its killing me that they say "full" driver support yet they don't support some of the features.

There is no SPDIF support available under Linux.

that sux. any reason why? linux doesnt support it? or just havent gotten around to writting support for it? I would love to be able to use my digital out in linux. works awesome in winblows though.
