I'm being patient with this whole thread due to the "damned if you do damned if you don't" effect it has if it is closed or not. I don't see Slappi's post as troll bait. He just made "best guesses"...not feigned statements of fact or attempts to convince others of his SWAGs. This belongs in the hardware rumor mill though so away...we go!
again, i ask what useful purpose does the thread have to offer?
hey, all i am saying is that if you're gonna come in here and start a thread like this, at least offer a theory on "why", which would support a discussion, not just a "my product will be better, neeener, neener....", which is in essence, all the original poster did.
i mean, if there IS a point to this, please share it with me, as i see nothing there other than someone coming in and "beating their chest" just to "ruffle some feathers", so to speak...
Sheesh man I am a diehard NV fan and I can't wait to put one of their cards back in my comp I am just giving my best guesses.
I even collect NV cards. I have a Diamond riva128, STB TNT, Leadtek TNT2 Ultra, Creative labs GF1, CL GF1 DDR, Creative Labs GF2 64mb DDR, Leadtek GF3 Ti200, Leadtek GF4 Ti4400, Leadtek GFFX 5900 ultra.
All bought for my systems at the time.

As for the PSU why has this become a issue? If you want the best system you can get why would you suddenly become money tight over the most important componant. Oh wait because NVIDIA did it :p
No but IF ATI's R420 offers the same pefromance and does not require a PS upgrade...then you can save $$ on the PS upgrade.

well, one of the 6800u previews was done an a 300w PS.. but i already have a 480 anyways, so no biggie....
hey slappi.. fyi i am not really a "fan" of either.. i have a half dozen pc's running here, and on my 3 "mid to high end" rigs, two of them have ati cards in em :)
i'm mostly impressed with the 6 series, tho i wish farcry performance was a bit better. it does however offer enough of a leap in perforance to justify it's purchase, however i'll wait to see what ati has to offer before making a decision.
