one of the card looks to have a NIC included...... wow

That Leadtek card with the NIC is a Quadro FX3000G, not a GF 6800U.

Frame lock allows the display channels from multiple workstations to be synchronized, thus creating one large "virtual display" that can be driven by a multisystem cluster for performance scalability.

Genlock (also known as "house sync") allows the graphics output to synchronized to an external source, typically for film and broadcast video applications.

<overly dramatic>
"Damnit man! We have got to render this image! Plug another video card into the network!"

*sigh* the joys of little sleep :D

Man, I was hoping to see a BFG card, I'm starting to like them more than anyone else.

It seems that these cards are not just ones given to the manufacuters by nvidia, the PCB's diffrent colors show that a few companies have short runs going right now.

maybe retail sooner than expected?

The question is, will there be enough 6800 Ultras to go around once you can finally order them or will you all beat me to the "order" button and screw me over?? ;)

Meh.

All that heat, and not a single vendor has an external exhaust solution.

Yuck.

Why does the Aopen card only have 1 molex connecter while the rest have 2? :wtf:

Apart from one they are all using the same heatsink design. I believe MSI might be using their own heatsink design though

http://www.msi.com.tw/html/newsrelease/product_news/2004_0415_NX6800Ultra.htm

Artwork shows a small image of a card with their normal large "flower petal " type copper coloured heatsink. Might be just a placeholder though when the art was done. Anyone got a picture of the MSI ?

Andy

Just also noticed on MSI website

"Copper ULTRA™ - This advanced cooper ventilation cooling mechanism enables superb cooling performance than the original cooling system, while still remains in comparable low fan noise level at 26db. "

"Continuing the MSI tradition of incorporating only the best engineering process and design techniques, MSI NX6800 Ultra series take advantage of the most advanced and sophisticated Copper ULTRA™ Cooling technology. This advanced ventilation cooling mechanism enables higher performance through faster clock rates, while still remains in comparable low GPU temperature"

Faster clock rates ? Mind you which card company was advertising 7db last time for 5800U .. me forgets ..
