The real winner will be the consumer. Two supercharged consoles and an assload of games to go with them!
Now back to your real question. It's not possible to tell at this point (at least not for me). What the hell, I'll pick Xbox 2. :rolleyes2

Playstation, this time it will be closer, Microsoft will actually make quite a lot of money this time round though, its a two horse race this time round.

Of course, if Murphy's Law had its way, Nintendo would come out with some Uber-console that smears both the Xbox2 and PS3.......
.....and only has kids games.

I hate when people call nintendo a kiddy console, they got more adult games now than ever before.

I know they do, I have a GC myself. But you have to admit, in the past, most of the big name games for Nintendo were kids games.

Playstation 3 i have a feeling Playstation 3 will win, and also i feel it will come out AFTER the Xbox2!
Mainly because Sony has stated that they want their consoles to last a long time, and they have proved it with PS1, and are proving it with PS2. Basicly sony has a reputation to keep of standing by their systems.
Even though Xbox has superior hardware, its loseing the war to PS2. So their hope is if they release new hardware again, maybe a bigger gap will help them.
For me it will come down to backward compatibility. If the PS3 plays all PS1 and PS2 games AND the Xbox next does not play Xbox 1 games the PS3 will pwn the Xbox. I have talked to many many people who got the PS2 cause it played all the old games. I think this was a huge factor.

MS because I think they did it better with X-Box even though not selling well and if anything will bring the X-Box to the level of PC gaming. I will most likely get both anyway.

I don't think either Sony or Microsoft have backward compatability plans. :lame:
Both of them are going to be great consoles, though. I'm going to be hard pressed to pick one. I'm probably going to be too busy picking up the current generation at reduced prices. :D
Honestly, The Playstation was the best console ever, but When Ps2 Came the Reputation Died, Thats why i bought an Xbox. The Only Reason why anyone should buy ps2 is to make ps1 games look better, but even that is still not good enough, So I believe the Playstation 3 is due for a comeback
The Phantom will completely anihilate both of them :p

Hah
Actually, the console I'm waiting for (if you want to call it that) is the PSP. That thing is going to ROCK.

Heh, I'll vote for PC as well....
Don't Forget about that DISCover, It'll piss off PC gamers for sure but if your a console freak thats the system you need.
Hmm, tough call since they're both so far away, but my vote goes to Xbox 2. I am disapointed at the current rumors that they'll be removing the harddrive, but at the very least it's online platform should be very nice (even now Live is pretty damn good, I'd love to see what they add for the Xbox 2). Now if they can just let you play videos and user-made software on it out of the box instead of requiring you to have a mod-chip :D
it also bugs me that the Xbox two is having an MAC machine instead of and Intel Processor. But i think this is a better move because Mac Pc are harder to hack and easier to make

Where did you hear this? :wtf:
Umm, that's a little misleading, it's using a POWERPC processor rather than an x86 arcitecture one, and apperently they're thinking about using 2 of them in tandem (so it would be like a dual-CPU system, except all the games would support it). But remember: nothing about the Xbox 2 is totally finalised.

Why in the world would they not use an intel processor?
