All of a sudden, my Windows Media Player won't work. It gives me a message saying "an internal application error has occured". Is there any way to uninstall and reinstall JUST media player?

If this helps - i didn't notice the problem untill AFTER i installed a divX player. Both divX and winamp will play avi files but media player stopped being able to. I UNINSTALLED divX, cleaned the registry, restarted, and the problem is still there.

Has anyone encountered this or can point me in the right direction for the solution to getting media player working again. Like i said, it won't even open at all.

Thank you.

P.S. i'm using Windows XP home

Sounds like a dependency file was overwritten with a version that WMP dont like, you can un-install it from "add remove windows components" and download the latest version from MS and reload...

Good luck
