Even if Ati's upcoming will outperform the 6800U by far no way in he.. that I will buy that piece of crap.. no PS3 support says everything I need to know. Annyway the power of the 6800 series should be more then enough for us all for a very long time ;-)
Atlest for the Nv45 heh
Piece of crap.. :angel2: :retard: :screwy:
Both the NV40 and R420 are fine pieces of engineered silicon.

If that is true I will preorder a X800XT really. But I want to see IQ comparisons first.
Don't worry about IQ...
What Radeon 9800XT and NV40 offers in term of quality/performance ratio for AF and AA is nothing but joke..
Just can't wait to see FSAA8x doing as fast as NV40 does FSAA4x

Hey guys, its just a silly quote my daughter says to me. No offense intended.
I do understand that these boards get touchy tho :)

I do not believe most of the articles from the enquirer are accurate. But I'm sure that the r420 will be a fast card. Most likely as fast as the 6800
The X800XT is the 16 pipeline card you talked about. Releases 15th of may it seems. the X800 PRO is ATI:s mid end video card. But it´s said that the X800 PRO do have 16 pipelines just 12 enabled so it may be a modders dream. 16 pipeline card for free can´t be bad.
People were complaining about that????!! Please... gimme a break.

I also saw this in www.theinquirer.org so it's nothing new. Many of those who use this board read the same websites. There's no way to know about the performance capabilities of the X800 Pro until we see the reviews. I don't know how much of a big deal PS 3.0 will be. :lol2:

Yes, but I might have elaborated on my initial reply to the thread. By stating, both companies, ati and nvidia are trying to trick each other with specifications that may or may not be true and feeding them to the press.
Another words wait for a shipping product.

I find your signature rather amusing. I can only wonder if you're going to change it in the interest of making yourself look like less of a dumb@ss.

im just waiting to see what those secret sauce polished forcewares do for the 6800nu - i mean Ultra that was reviewed. :ORDER:
All I can say is I'm getting me an r420 as soon as I get a chance. Now if only stinking HL2 would get released that would make my day. Anyway want a slightly used 9800AIW for cheap? :)

Looks pretty much in line with what we saw of the 6800U... but only one difference... R420 did this back in December 2003... so ATi has had 5 months to improve and tweak R420....
If I were ATi I would've released this back in December... that would've been really funny. :)
Edit: Translated text taken from B3D:
The fastest VPU in the world, another time!
. Revolutionized architecture brings you 2 times the performance of Radeon 9800
. Extremely fast rendering pipeline
. The latest silicon process
. Very fast memory interface
. 256MB video RAM

LOOKs like the "extreme pipes" have got something to do with this claim.
ATI has the low K advantage...

I love having to decide between unbelievable and amazing...either way, there is some insane silicon coming our way.
latest rumors, 6800rev. a2 to ship? core speed increase? availability moved back to "close of may"?
cloak and dagger stuff indeed.

ATI has the low K advantage...
and if I stand correct, doesnt nvidia use SOI? thats almost as good as low k
I haven't seen anywhere that said they did use SOI. I dunno...also I dunno the comparable benefits of using SOI to low k. both lower K or sumat?

IBM's SOI doesn't seem to run very hot on the 6800U at 400Mhz given MikeC's results.
If it ran hot you'd have heard of it from the Ati supports by now, like all that FUD about it being a toaster and loud before it was released.
I am surprised by the claim by hell_of_doom that the r420 will be able to perform 8xAA at the same speed as the nv40 does 4xAA. I assume the r420 will be more efficient ( given past record ) but even so it has to suply 12 pipelines at 475+ speeds and do all that AA as well ??
We'll see though.
Regards
Andy
