The Baron over at Beyond3d was saying all sources are now pointing to/suggesting these prices as of today. If that is true, that will be awesome. I will take a 6800u for 399usd.

Well, I know it will be 12 piped... Not sure on the clocks though.

Im curious as to why they are dropping the price so low, they know damn well people will pay $500 when it is first released.

Im hoping they aren't dropping the price because of it's performance in relation to the x800XT...

that would be sweet if its $399, all the better to steal ati's market share, but then isnt the x800 pro also $399 with the x800xt $499? that means the ultra would compete with the pro, no?

would seem to me ati is the one that needs to "steal" desktop market share. nvidia has 60%.

but hey, if ati drops, that's cool by me.. more choices, better prices :)

I would LOVE to see 399 again.
Maybe so. Then the 512 MB will be 499. :D :D :D :D

Maybe Nvidia is gonna release a higher clocked 6850u card at $499. ;)

Perhaps if they can figure out how to package a refridgerator with it for cooling... :p

I'm definately going for a 6800nu..seems to be the best bang for buck card since the 9500 pro.

All reports are it cooler than the 5950 and 9800. :tongue2:

If the 6800U comes out at $400, that'd be absolutely amazing. I'd plunk down that chunk of change for one in a heartbeat.

$400 seems too cheap for that card...I believe the 6800 Ultra will retail for $499!

Mayhaps they're leaving the $499 price for the 512MB card?

The Baron... sounds familiar.

Anyways, It's good to see prices already established for the GeForce 6800 Ultra.

I'm sure nothing is established yet. But it would be nice if prices stayed around where they are.

And all reports are that the A1 stepping *IS* the 6800 Ultra...period. Despite the fact that it is 400mhz only, while an ever cooler A2 stepping has been seen running at 475mhz.

I think we are going to be seeing a previously unannounced 6850 right after the 9800XT launch. Maybe pushed to 500 core? With 512mb of GDDR3 clocked to an insane level. At $499.

Heh, I just saw my recipt of my gf3, which I imported from the US...$369 (OCZ Titan 3) + the 19.5% sales tax I had to pay once it got here :retard:

$399 sounds a fair price to me

Hopefully we get some clarification on this. It sure would be sweet to pick up a standard ultra for $399 and the one with 512MB of ram for $500.

I 2nd that theory as well, especially if the Ultra is $399, nV wont go long without a $500 card. Oh and bring on the freakin NU benches already! I might want to trade up my 5900 for it heh heh.

there could be a chance itll be $399 because there could be a 512mb for $499?

I'm hoping some retail company will release a kickass budget 6800, because I don't have money to burn.
But maybe I'll save up.
