BFG 5800u: who wants one, and why?

Fair point! I'm not claiming no-one else should be going for one, it does look a kickass card, the engineering sample I've got at the moment is quite dull looking :(

Yes, no price is better than $0. Heck I'd gladly take a FX5600 if it was free... doesn't mean I'd use it in my primary gaming rig ;)

i want one to replace my ti4200. i can't afford to buy a 6800 or anything else decent as the cash i saved up for it magically disappeared after i crashed my car :'(

When I talked to the BFG Tech folks last year, this is exactly what they said they were going to do with their leftover stock of 5800U cards. I saw them - a giant box full of these suckers. I wish I could have taken one right there. I wouldn't necessarily have used it, but it would still be fun to own. :D

Had to pay my car insurance which went up a rediculous percentage thanks to my sis's accident earlier this year, so I had to sell my 5900NU to pay it :( My comp is way slow in games at this point after taking that out it sucks... Probably for the better anyways... Finals are in a week, so maybe if Im lucky ill win and I can game again after finals :-D

Id have it because the day i sold my 5800 Ultra on ebay was a sad day indeed and i regreted it (omg) and defended it (the NV30) often in here. I couldnt belive i saw one being given away i thought it said 6800 at first... wonder if BFG are selling any of these last stocks of the nv30 off :angel2:

Why I entered? Because the 5800 Ultra is faster than my 9600XT and I would not mind owning the biggest flop in modern computer graphics history. :rolleyes:

Sorry about that- I never thought of the "lower chances of winning" aspect of it, I just figured 100's of people would be entering anyway and the AT people are a good community who might like a shot at it.

I was amazed to see that BFG refurb thing though. Cripes, when I was looking for one of these, I considered having a guy in England ship me one.
Then Waltar shows up, now this, ......

I've decided 5800Ultras are like women(sex) when you're single: If you've got one, you can have more. If you don't, don't bother looking. (visible to women only sign above your head, flashing, "Not Getting Any")
