So, who likes 'em? I have to honestly say they're one of my, if not my favorite modern rock band. Definitely the best thing to come from Canada since hockey. :D
I'm not sure exactly which song is my favorite. I'm big on Superman's Dead, Clumsy, Thief, One Man Army and Somewhere Out There.
I was so jealous - a friend of mine went to an autograph signing they had at the local Tower Records. He got to meet their new guitarist and listened to what amounted to a free concert. Instead of playing a short 15 minute set, they played for a full 45 minutes.
I need to get online and order myself a t-shirt. :D
OMG I love Our Lady Peace.
I was introduced to them on an issue of Playstation Underground. I found their video to Clumsy and since then have managed to acquite every released album. I love em lots n lots n lots hehehe :)
Clumsy was my favorite song for a very long while.
I've gotta agree with your list there Saturn. Those are my favorites, too :)

I just can't get used to his voice. I have Clumsy, but I just can't get into it. Pardon my lack of musical knowledge, but let me see if I can impart this understandably; It sounds to me like he is trying to sing in two octaves like in "Supermans Dead", but it just doesn't work for me. If you have ever heard any Finger Eleven, I think Scott Anderson has it just right on their CD "Tip". Of course, this is all just my personal, $.02 opinion, so take it on face value...

Pretty good.
It's the fact that they're OVEPLAYED that sucks.
Not their fault, tho

Our Lady Peace plays here in town, at the Crowbar (~400 admission venue), twice a year or so. I havne't yet gotten to see them play, but I'd like to.
I liked their material a lot before they were hyped up...
Their producer mustve told lead singer that his voice trick variation in tone annoying thing or whatever was his ticket to fame. And then they made the videos to make his eyes huger and all girls bought bought bought... sorry i hate commercialism killing artists everyday in america...
Ever heard the songs "starseed" and "navid"?
Really good stuff.
There was more vitality to it then.
This stuff sounds good when mixed with tracks from the Toadies, Tripping Daisies, Butthole Surfers, and P.U.S.A.
Mid nineties were very cool...
And Nirvana will always be that much cooler...
PS: Screwed up their new song is playing on radio right now and I like his voice better and may give them another chance. Sounds like he took singing lessons from Ed Kowalzczek from Live.
good new song.
i like em... mostly.

I like Starseed and Naveed, but I'm actually not too crazy about Naveed as a whole. It's a bit too weird for my liking as an album.
My favorite album of theirs is probably Spiritual Machines. To me, that album gets down to the very essence of the band. In Repair is my favorite tune on that CD with Life and Right Behind You being close 2nd-3rd.
Gravity is all right. Seems a bit more mainstream than any of their previous albums. But with that album, they're starting to suffer from the Creed syndrome of being completely overplayed on the radio. Of course, I've stopped listening to commercial music radio for all intents and purposes for this exact reason. I want to enjoy my music, not have it pounded into my head as frequently as every two hours. And what really pisses me off is that some of these radio stations treat OLP as if they're some kind of new band. Um, hello? They have 5 albums out, people!
I was absolutely appalled that they played Somewhere Out There on a trailer for the Triple-X movie. OLP and Vin Diesel - I think I'm gonna hurl. :o

they're good, but I get tired of his voice if I listen long enough...

i have done the same, radio is just not worth lsitening to these days, they either play poppy crap, or songs u heard 10 mins ago... i wanna be able to hear new music and make choices about it... not have it rammed down my throat

The only radio station I listen to now is the local sports talk one. But they've had a lineup change and my two favorite personalities on that station are on the air at a time when I can't listen to them on my way into work in the morning. So I don't listen to that station as much as I used to any more. I'm glad I have my CD's to keep me company. It's my music, my way.
I have to wonder, though, if that XM satellite radio is any good. If it's anything like the music channels I get on my DirecTV system at home, it may be an option worth considering.

I love Our Lady Peace!! I have been looking everywhere online to try to find a place where I can buy some T-shirts and posters--does anyone know of a website that I can buy them from cause I have searched and searched and have not been able to find anything other than their CDs for sale (all of which I already have...) Thanks!
Yeah OLP seriously pwn. I live in the UK and they dont get much airplay over here. I even had to order the live DVD from Canada because every music store over here were like.. Our Lady what ? ...
Brilliant band... and the live dvd kicks arse... :D
ps.. i got a tshirt with the same image of the live dvd on the front.. and the tour dates on the back in XL of Ebay. ;)
