r420 70% faster using FSAA than NV40 having FSAA as well in AOD...

I think it's revelant, because many people can buy NV B.S. story about PS3.0 and so on...

yea, that single screenshot says so much, doesn't it? it certainly proves nv40 is nothing in comparison to r420 :screwy:

btw, Nvidia256 already beat you to it (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=306295&postcount=246)

Seems that r420 is running Far Cry 68FSP but don't know at what FSAA and AF level and what resolution...If the settings are FSAA4x AF8x than we have
NV40 44FPS if i'm correct and r420 68FPS so do the math :)

There are a lot of pictures and stuff here and text as well...
There are screenes of upcoming Medal Of Honor 2, Black and White 2, and so on...

The thing is that r420 is going to blow NV40 in every aspect...end of my story...

hell_of_doom, whats the point of the link? some odd pictures, some dubious perf claims...and the point is?

I'm not seeing anything that is that impressive... both are playable... the real question is if hl2 is still detecting the nv40 as a nv3x card..... or is it finding it a the nv40 like it is supposed to?

not much other than what a flaming fanboi he is :rolleyes2

personally, it would suit me just fine if r420 rocks, but i'll believe it when i see it.

I dont think the benchmarks you do when using farcry in benchmarking is actually done in water with not much on screen..
you prolly want some of the game in there aswell..
Doesnt really say much on R420 vs NV40 in that game tho, but a number taken in the "lesser" demanding situations of the game compared to a "avrage" number from a benchmark isnt good comparison..
Maybe NV40 had min 20 and Max 100 fps in the test, but avraged at 44, I dunno, neither do you.. so its not giving us anything..

And NV40 launch showing upcoming games didnt really say anything on how it would compare with R420 performancewise, so the other gamescreens from R420 doesnt really do that either..

Not saying one is faster then the other, but we could prolly wait with the calls until there is some side by side benches to look at...

I just wish we could see it so it would stop all these NV40 vs r420(despite the fact most people here know nothing of its performance) threads!

wont be any PS3.0 only games around for a while..
the "SM3.0 mod" you might be refering to, which seem to be fully runable in PS2.0 aswell.. i would guess even more so in the extended PS_2_b if you need more instructions..

So It prolly wont be alot of advantage to anyone in that, one of them will be faster but not likly due to the new content in Farcry..
NV40 might get a small speed boost compared to itself in PS2.0, but more then that cant be said atm I guess...

Nvidia makes one mistake (NV30) and now so many people are comparing them to Satan.

I personally believe that Pixel and Vertex shader 3 will be a viable feature because of the number of games that are already planing on implementing it.

Didn't we have h_o_d pegged as a ATI fanboy some time ago? The guy signed up just a short while ago, near the time when the 6800U was previewed, and started spreading FUD.

He is certainly not here in the NVIDIA forum with good intentions, I can tell you that much, obviously.
