Yes exactly. But even in 3DMARK 2001se if you remember the test with a lot of neo guys with shadows the 8500 clearly showned it´s superiority over the Geforce 4 series.

Guess nVidia did miss the shader train a bit...

Yes, it was a good card but the drivers were very buggy, it was bad enough when I used the verson 2 of the cats when I brought a Radeon9700 pro. To use to the nvidia drivers being so good when previous to the 9700pro I had a GF4 Ti 4400.

Yes I had a ti-4600 prior to the 9700 PRO I got it RMA:d against. I did however have more issues with my ti-4600 than the 9700 PRO really so to me it´s the opposite really.

In fact the two games I had problem with on the Geforce 4 was oddly enough both about the first in TWIMTBP campaign. RSC and UT2003.

I would have never noticed except for a few mods and members such as nForceman...NVNews is quite a balanced place.
