OMG, that looks awesome! Bwahahahah.
I must say, that's a pretty good camera used to take that shot.

wow ....
no way thats a pics by R420 ....not possible......
thats like a pic from a graphics card which would come out maybe in 2007.....:)
Like I said in another thread, it needs some displacement mapping :D

More crap.... I was taking a close look and notices some artifacting. If you zoom in on the most brightly lit tree trunk to the right. There you can see a bit of blockyness and some banding. Must be a cheat by ATI. Either that or the FP24 limits on the card are showing up here.

High dynamic range and enough polygons will get you that. Oh so it looks real huh, well nice polygons!
like 4 giga vertices/s perfromance in the CPU? we got gigapixels, now we need giga vertices! How about a dedicated polygon unit in the CPU instead of a dual core CMT CPU?
If people knew how good graphics could get with more polygons (http://jooh.no/root/omg_3dcards/PolyCount/nv30_bike.jpg) theyd pay as much for a CPU as a 3d card damit. Flat texture effect (http://jooh.no/root/omg_3dcards/PolyCount/fake_polygons.jpg) only get you that far.

Displacement mapping makes bump-mapping look like real polygons. Still, a dedicated polygon unit sounds like a good idea.
Huge number of polys is bad, you get alot of artifacting with sub pixel sized polys.
We have dedicated polygon units anyway, they're inside the gpu.. I dont understand what you're trying to say.
