Came across is here http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.computerbase.de%2Fnew s%2Fhardware%2Fgrafikkarten%2Fnvidia%2F2004%2Fapri l%2Fgeforce_6800_modellen%2F&langpair=de%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools

It seems there will now be

6800 Ultra (16x1 @ 400MHz 256bit 256MB 1.1GHz memory)
6800 GT (16x1 @ 350MHz 256bit 256MB 1GHz memory)
6800 (12x1 @ 325MHz 256bit 128~256MB 700MHz memory)

This 6800GT will be the card as the "6800PRO" that was talked about a little while ago.

Yeah i think it is to go against the X800 Pro while the 6800 goes against the X800SE.

If the 350/500 is correct for the GT they better crank up the clocks for the ultra or else i doubt they'll sell more than 500 Ultra's.

Bottom two have no chance against r420Pro, since r420Pro will be faster in the majority of the tests than 6800Ultra. NVIDIA should make something faster than 6800Ultra...

I don't think that is too fair. Nvidia has a made a very good card, an excellent upgrade option. Even if some faster competition comes along (which we don't know about yet) it still doesn't make nvidia's latest a slow card, definitely nothing to be ashamed of.

source? or fud? If just opinion, that's thread crapping and it's against the rules.

This should go on the rumor section

Anyway there are lots of rumors about the clockspeeds of the 6800 family

Some say the ultra will be 500/1200 and anothe version (the pro or GT or something else) will be 400/1000

400 was for review cards, retail 6800u cards will be in the 450-500 range it seems ( well at least from some AIC's ).

Who is some? I haven't heard this. clock speeds are pretty well confirmed at 400/1100. They would have no chance of getting that thing to 500MHz. lol

BTW i heard the same argument when the 5900u came out, and most of them can reach 500mhz with no problems.

no goofy, people are getting tired of trying to discuss nvidia cards and in every thread ends up with someone saying "oh yeah well Ati can do this". It just gets old after a while, MikeC said he was going to start banning for threadcrapping. Just giving the heads up.

edit: oh, and are you following me? It's starting to make me feel uncomfortable. :wtf:

LOL! funny one. Why would nvidia give slower boards to reviewers than what they have? does that make sense?

Why would nv print this on their own webpage about the 6800?

Graphics Core 256-bit
Memory Interface 256-bit
Memory Bandwidth 35.2 GB/sec.
Fill Rate 6.4 billion texels/sec.
Vertices per Second 600 Million
Memory Data Rate 1100 MHz
Pixels per Clock (peak) 16
Textures per Pixel* 16
RAMDACs 400 MHz

lol.. let's compare the last week.. or even the last few days, shall we?

edit: put it in the open fourm. fun, but off-topic.

You have 300 in 2 months, I have 500 in 2years. Times have gotten good in the last 2 weeks. But how about we stay on topic instead. You're becoming gum on my shoe. Shu.

No GPU clockspeed there, so technically, they could change their minds if they have enough hi-speed chips.

Yes, but there is a fillrate there, which equals 400Mhz x 16 pipes.

Edit: the 6800U is bandwidth limited anyway. There would be no real point in a faster core with that bandwidth.

True, but oddly enough they list both the bandwidth and speed of the memory. Anyways, like you said, it's highly unlikely they'd change the specs after their launch party!

Like every video card, the 6800U is bandwidth limited in certain scenarios while not in others. Fillrate and shader speed will be it's limitations in newer games while memory bandwidth will hold it back when maxing out your AF and AA at high resolutions in "less newer" titles. (I don't want to call titles like C.O.D. and Max Payne 2 old!)

to a certain extent.. older games are indeed bandwidth limited, however newer games shader power (gpu) has become much more important.

newer, shader intensive games could benefit from a core increase without a bandwidth increase.

Ady says 400, I say 500Mhz.

There should be some press releases next week ......
