Yes the chipset is for all platforms but the 940skt probobly won't get it as it's moving back to server Opterons, so it will be for the 754 & 939 processors.

They are getting announced on 25th of may then god knows when we will see them and there will only be 240,000 in the whole of 2004 across the world so they will be RARE more so as i am sure Alienware and HP etc will eat the supplies up very very quickly  thats why i am deciding on if i should just go and get a A64 3000+ & MSI K8N-P

about socket 939, will these boards only be with AGP or 1st AGP then few months later have pci-express?

Both Nvidia and VIA chipsets will be AGP at first. Later on this year, quarter 3 I believe, new version will arrive with PCI-E. From what I understand, VIA's will have both AGP and PCI-E to allow for a seamless transition. Nvidia's will reportedly have "special" PCI-E lanes, 10 USB 2.0 slots, new HD audio, and 4 SATA natively.

thanks d2thez, I'll most likely wait till at least somtime in July - till end of August, then do a major upgrade with cpu, motherboard, video card, memory.

I can't see installing one of these new highend video cards with my current system, AMD xp 2100+ ( palomino), 768MB PC 2700, etc...
