Anybody know of a good (and i mean actually good - as it doesn't crash or mess up every three seconds) program to watch tv with an ATI tv wonder tuner and winXP? I've tried atimmc (it messes up), windvr, sagetv and showshifter (which works the best so far, but i HATE the interface)

Its the only TV program i will use, but unfortuanly it costs like 70$ but its soo good. They got a free demo you can use for 30 days, once you try it, you will gladly give up the cash for it though be warrned :P

Cyberlink PowerVCR II is also good, it works perfect with my MSI TV Tuner card, whereas the stupid Intervideo MSI crap that came with the card crashes every three seconds.
what happens with mmc ?
just curious since if there is a workaround it would be better to use the free software rather than spending 70 bucks on something else :)
drop a line with the issues and what you have done to resolve it and lets try and tackle it... btw www.rage3d.com has a good AIW tech support section... give it a look... thankfully devoid of fanbois in that part...

Yes, but for 70 you dont just get the TV tuner stuff how it 'should' of been done. You get some very innovative features and GREAT support.
For example, it allows you to record all shows in a series. Guide+ dose NOT allow you to do that, you have to go though every week and tell it to record.
You can also tell your computer to RECORD from a remote web interface. Lets say your at work or at a friends house and decided you want someting recorded, just login and it goes.
You can also skip commercials with one button.
You also get a TON of diffrent recording qualites to choose from.
Fully integrates with ATi remote wonder.
lots a features!
:(
thanks for reminding me about teh stuff I miss out on coz I am broke...

I use DScaler. It has a huge range of deinterlacing and noise reduction filters you can apply to the image in real time. It works great with my TV wonder. The picture is much sharper than the crappy app supplied by ATI, which sucks because it doesn't do deinterlacing, it just skips every other line. This is kind of ironic since ATI is always pimping their L33T hardware accelerated deinterlacing features, yet their own software doesn't use it.

I use my Winfast software, but I tried out DScaler for a bit and it works great for a free app. I'd give it a shot Mr. Three Eyed Fish.
